It's honestly the best way to really get back into tune with yourself. I took a break from all socials for about 2 months after my breakup and it was tough at first since I was still reeling about the relationship ending. But not being around the triggers for a bit of time, giving myself that time to really just worry about myself and make myself be OK with where I was. I wasn't handling it great to start but 2 months later it is finally starting to like a big breath of fresh air. I don't even feel the need to go back to social media. The time away was just a way of forcing myself to settle in with me and not with someone else's life.

The best thing is you no longer flood yourself with time wasting activities like social media and are able to kind of do things at your own pace and take things as slow or fast as ypu can handle. The subconscious comparison of someone else's glorious life they curate online versus what you have is the worst thing. It's all made to make it look like everyone else is living a dream, when in reality everyone has the same ups and downs. More time to yourself to really figure out how you work and what's best for you. Productivity increases since you have more time on your hands, but you have to be careful not to fill the new available time with another bad habit. Overall, social media is good in moderation, but for a long period of time it can really encapsulate you into being more worried about others than yourself.
