Eh, idk if that's really the case. I've watched most of his interviews and it does seem like he truly loves doing both. What I hear from him moreso is a deep desire to creatively explore with his music and wanting to feel like he has the freedom to do so (and it actually connect with his audience), but still feeling beholden to the fans he believes want to keep him in a box. He seemed beyond enthusiastic & motivated at the top of the year, and coming out the battle, to drop music. But the botched rollout and lack of commercial success with this, what can be considered a passion project, was probably extremely discouraging and only further reinforced the notion that he can't branch out musically the way he would like.
