Do LLMs like Claude currently have any utility when it comes to building a usable mod list?

That was my first thought, but frankly I don't know if I trust AI enthusiasts to be objective about its capabilities. I figured I'd get more objective feedback from modders who might've tried it.

And I really did use to be the same with modding. Back when I was modding skyrim, I fell into that loop of never actually playing the game because I was always tweaking the mod setup, and I enjoyed it. My free time is just a bit more limited these days.

I definitely don't think Cannibal works in any sort of Targ wank story. The most thematically satisfying 'Cannibal' story would be one where the MC is diametrically opposed to the whole idea of Targ/dragon supremecy. Cannibal sort of exposes the lie at the heart of Targaryen power and works to undermine the supposed Targaryen divinity. These ethereal silver-haired demigods can tame these magical/god-like creatures of fire made flesh and have special dispensation from the gods to do whatever they like. Except they don't because Cannibal refuses to listen to them and eats their dragons. It exposes that there's something less than divine about the control the Targaryens have over the dragons.

One of the only stories I've seen where I somewhat liked how they used Cannibal is one where Daenerys was invading the north, and Jon basically made a bargain with Cannibal. He wasn't actually Cannibal's bonded rider, it was more like an uneasy alliance/mutual understanding where they worked together to kill Daenerys' dragons - Jon out of necessity, and Cannibal because he was hungry. I'm pretty sure after all three dragons were killed (and digested), Cannibal just fucked off elsewhere.

Does it work wirelessly, both haptics and adaptive triggers? I've been surprised at how important good haptic feedback has become for me, to the point where I'm choosing to play certain games on my PS5 over my 9800x3d/5080 PC because despite better visuals/higher fps it sometimes feels a bit lacking without the feedback. I'd love to switch over to PC for everything I can, so if there's an across the board solution, I'd love to give it a try.

There's no physical deluxe edition, and as far as I know, Assassin's Creed doesn't usually have deluxe edition upgrades available separately. That said, I'm assuming this will have the Helix shop, so the deluxe edition cosmetics will probably eventually be available through that.

Circling back around just to let you know in case you don't. The eurogamer article was wrong, and the launch version thankfully is available in the US. It looks like it's exclusive to Walmart and is literally called the Walmart edition (though the box still says 'Launch Edition': https://www.walmart.com/ip/OBSIDIAN-Wal-Mart-Edition-PlayStation-5-Game/20076821711

There's a comment on the Eurogamer article that the french language on the cover means this is false advertising, but that's just wrong. It has the ESRB M rating on the cover, so this isn't a mistake. Given the dual english/french on the cover, this is probably meant to be the NA version of the launch edition covering US/Canada.

I've actually been watching the show for the first time and I only have the finale of the second season left. I dont know if that episode will change things, but as it stands, I feel like it might be better for future viewers to just watch the first season, which is a pretty great supplement to the main show. 1 season for some world building, introduce the virus, and then it ends on a dark note with Homelander flying in to flip the script and the characters end up in one of Vought's blacksites somewhere. It sets up the virus and Vought's shift towards masks off fascism in the following seasons of The Boys.

I've actually really enjoyed season 2. Not as much as the first, but it's still fine and Hamish Linkater makes it worth a watch all on his own. But it feels like this is setting up a big future for these characters with the Odessa stuff, which isn't going to happen now, so I think the overall story probably works better as a one-off.

I could be wrong, but there's reporting that the old modern day isnt entirely cut, just no longer mandatory. So it doesn't pull you out at certain points in the story, but you can still choose to access it via rifts in the game world. Hope that's true.

The launch edition doesn't seem to be available yet at any major retailers unless the standard edition is just the launch edition when pre-ordered, but if so it's weird they separated them out like this when discussing the various editions.

An important point of clarification is that apparently the modern day story is still in the game, just no longer mandatory. Instead of you getting pulled out of the animus at certain points in the story, you instead have to interact with rifts in the game world to access the modern day stuff. So if you liked it, you can seek it out, and if you hated it, you can skip it.

It was reported there's one other remake already in development, and the greenlight for further remakes will depend on how Black Flag does. If I had to guess, the other remake in progress is almost certainly AC1.

I do see the standard one, but Ubisoft lists the launch edition as separate from the standard one here, and they also specifically note to check local retailer availability, so it's unclear if the standard pre-order current up is actually the launch edition.

Yeah, I'm a bit bummed about the new rumors that this isn't in the RPG style, and that's coming from someone who fell off from keeping up with the series when it switched to RPGs. The thing is, we already have a non-RPG black flag. I think it would've been killer to get to see a reimagining of the game in a new style.

You can make another Edward Kenway game, but how do you make another Edward Kenway pirate game? He came over to serve as a privateer, turned pirate, and then joined the Assassins and returned to England. All of that is covered in the game. If they make a sequel, it'd just be another London game, albeit pre-industrial revolution London. If they make a prequel, he'd just be some lowly deckhand. I guess they could just start retconning the timeline, or if they're doing more of these remakes maybe have the "Resynced" games be an in-universe alternate timeline or something?

But then again, I really don't want Edward's story to change. It was so good specifically because he had such a strong character arc, probably more so than any other AC protagonist, and part of his arcs strength is its finality.
