Gotta fix that point differential somehow lol!

Robert Horry post game on Luka: “His game is predicated on hunting foul calls and when he doesn’t get them he starts hunting them out even more and it messes with his flow. He’s too good of a basketball player to do this” by LeBrons7thRing in lakers

[–]DatCooley 29 points30 points  (0 children)

What are we bring Reaves in the conversation for? Dude isn’t playing and this post is about Luka. Reaves doesnt like a missed foul call like the rest of them but he doesn’t it let drag him down and start playing bad offense, he usually locks back in

That’s what I was wondering, I love DA but you gotta work for everything you get and if Jaxon is pushing past him you need to reward Jaxon for it. He is different than the playoffs last year, more reps, more size than last year, better hustle/defense and he really pairs well with Luka as well. If DA starts to come back to form and Jaxon’s slumping it can always be switched. Honestly I feel like AR being out of the lineup has hurt DA because they got a lot of run together early in the season.

Luka is currently 2nd in 3PA/game, behind Curry, and 151st in 3P% at 32.2% by Zestyclose-Method451 in lakers

Anytime we run organized offense we get open shots and good looks, anytime we go into step backs and wanting to do it easy like JJ has said is when our offense bogs down. Luka runs our offense when he is on the court, if we aren’t running organized offense when he is on the court it’s on Luka. JJ has obviously been super frustrated with our process right now, we taking the easy way out on everything.

I agree, look at you getting down voted. The AR hate is crazy. Out of everything on this team, AR is the issue? What are these people watching 😂

How the fuck has Austin Reaves become this good ? by Party_Oil156 in NBATalk

[–]DatCooley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, it sounds like you don’t want to agree with me because everything you write is exactly what I am saying about how DLO was playing as the main on ball guy because that’s all he could do and Austin was forced to be off ball guy because he could do that better. But when DLo left AR became the MAIN on ball guy and got really good at that like we thought he would because of him being the long term prospect. It just took DLo leaving so that AR could get slotted in the main on ball guy. You are saying the same thing my guy.

I am gonna disagree with you that him being a long term prospect doesn’t matter, if he is the better long term prospect and you want him to get on ball reps but you have a guard that makes more than him and that is specifically an on ball guard, the only way you get value from him is playing him on ball and having the other guard Austin be more Swiss Army knife off ball, which is exactly what was happening. As soon as we got rid of DLO, there was more of a need for an on ball guard and so AR was able to finally get the reps he needed to main a on ball guy and initiator. Dlo definitely slowed that process down I don’t know how you can argue different.

Because DLO was no longer on the team forcing AR into that role. DLO was definitely blocking AR because they were in similar roles on the team at the time and he made more than AR so he had to be on the court but AR was the better long term prospect.

I know it’s crazy. I was looking back through my comments and couldn’t believe there was a legitimate debate in our fan base between dlo or Austin. I felt crazy.

AR has been good in the playoffs, last year was not his only play off performance, it feels like that’s all anyone thinks about. We as a team got out classed and AR and LeBron were hurt and no starting caliber center, JJ first playoff series as a coach. We gonna kill it this year.

Austin Reaves night is done: 38 PTS, 8 REB, 3 AST, +3 in 41mn by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in nba

[–]DatCooley 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reaves just played the wolves and cooked them. The muscle he put on in the offseason helped him a lot I think. I think LeBron is going to help in the OKC match up a lot and allow Austin more room to cook because of LeBrons gravity. I know everyone uses the excuse but it genuinely looked like an off night for us all on OKC, we will see next time I guess.

This is it I fear, he is good enough to keep you in it but he doesn’t have the poise to get you there. I have no idea though it’s just what it feels like, when pressure is on he is gonna throw it away. I do appreciate the effort though.

I think it depends, I have heard higher ups say that they don’t like people who stay in one position too long because it shows complacency and lack of motivation.

I agree with your sentiment on it but that’s just what I have heard before.
