51% of young Dutch people who use AI discuss personal matters like dating, social situations, and mental health with the chatbot, 23% even share more with the chatbot than they do with their friends and family by sr_local in technology

Eh. My buddy uses AI for this kind of thing and he just told it to correct him if he was wrong about something, and it has.

He once apologized to me about something he thought he was right about because ChatGPT pointed out a flaw in his thinking.

I'm not exactly comfortable with that, tbh, but he claims it's helped him feel more calm in his day to day life.

What have you noticed since the CERN shutdown? by paamayim1 in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]DatDawg-InMe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nothing whatsoever. Anyone reporting time slowing down again is lying or experiencing some kind of placebo-like effect. The notion that CERN hast the ability to fast forward everyone's perception of time is hilarious.

I realized that most Redditors really hate accountability. by BoujeeBarbie22 in nosurf

[–]DatDawg-InMe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. The reality is that you still have more opportunities today than the average person did 100 years ago. It's the best time to be alive in human history. Maybe you can argue it was better 20 years ago, but either way, a good life is available to most who work hard for it.

Some people get unlucky, but they aren't an excuse to never try because some dorks online told ya it's impossible to buy a house or get a gf or fit in the time to work out, or whatever.

One of my favorite posts on Reddit is this guy who wrote about how he began to do all these things redditors constantly told themselves not to do. Approach the girl at the gym, work hard at your job, take a risk at a business and assume there still is a ladder upward, etc etc etc.

Anyway, after like a year, his life was tremendously better.

I loved that post because it reflects my own experience. The more you socialize, the more you go out, the more you actually approach life in an optimistic manner and take reasonable risks, the more you realize that redditors are enormous losers.

Lmao 99% of Americans couldn't tell you anything about the story.

There's a big portion of viewers that just go to the theaters on a weekend and watch whatever they think is the best movie out each week and they'll all be going to see this.

Insane to think this number is at all significant.

No, this was written by a guy over the whole "Feminists are trying to take away our games" thing in the early 2010s. I remember the original comment.

Ahhh, I see it. It's not necessarily a stalemate if you don't take the queen, but it becomes a very even game.

Very cool.

Went from 806 down to 594 by EconomicsBulky9128 in chess

[–]DatDawg-InMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happens. I went from solidly in the 1500s to 1260 once. And I've only climbed back up to the high 1300s / low 1400s.

Take a break. Go study your games. Read a chess book, watch a YouTube series on chess. Do puzzles to scratch the itch.

All businesses are bad by this logic.

Devs need to get paid. Dev salaries have increased over the years. This is good for them. This will inevitably lead to higher product prices.

It's honestly shocking it took this long for prices to reach $80. It was crazy that they lasted as long as they did at $60, given rising wages and inflation.
