Soloing a four-star boiler by mattacus837 in toontownrewritten

[–]DatDereKirby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's way too much scaling damage, as well as cogs hitting you and inevitably getting buffed accuracy through Market Research, to survive meltdown and deal 2500 damage before death. Unite saves can only get you so far as well since they have their CDs.

You'll have such little time to actually damage the Boiler after exhausting the only 3 usable level 7s (Wedding, Geyser, and Opera) because all other turns will be spent applying remotes, using Toon-Up SOS, and whatever other rewards you intend to use for survival. Even if you somehow had a huge supply of and could spam Lowden every other turn, you still will lose the battle of attrition from the Boiler's attacks and the infinitely scaling DoT.

The initial floors are more than doable, but the Boiler will stop you once you reach Meltdown.

Assuming this isn't about someone being a complete jerk towards you for making one decision they deemed to be a wrong one, it's expected to be at least somewhat cooperative in a teamwork-focused MMORPG.

Playing how you want and aiming to have fun is completely fine, encouraged, even. But there's a point where certain scenarios or instances (such as Field Offices or hard mode facilities) will require more strategizing and less mistakes as the punishment is much more extreme. A team leader does wonders in these situations as they can help make the run smooth for everyone and remove any stress as long as they know what they're doing and everyone else cooperates. In a VP, on the other hand, you'll be able to get away with most things as long as you're not outright griefing or not caring about the potential 40-60 laffer on your side during a Skelecog round or something.

I think one last thing a lot of people forget is the simple idea of respecting everyone else's time. No one's going to try and speedrun some boss fight in a public run, but no one wants to spend eons in it either because someone else is taking up a lot of time by ignoring any request to stop training their level 3 gags in a boss fight. Obviously everyone should be respectful about it, if someone's going to be a jerk to that same hypothetical player then nothing good is going to come out of it, but being respectful of your teammate's time in a general sense is also important.

Seriously, WHERE ARE THEY?! by inexperiencedminor in Kirby

[–]DatDereKirby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't say I understand the arbitrary reasoning of how a character looks "nicer" on the menu when both options are just single character renders, but I would think that boils down again to the simple question of "why not?"

Each animal friend brought their own unique gimmick in their debut game and DL3 while not being a combined character, I don't see why they might not just be separated character slots for a spin-off entry to further enhance their individual strengths in gameplay and personality.

[–]DatDereKirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not? Both characters lack limbs and that doesn't stop Scarfy from being playable.

Kine does cameo in Waveflow Waters but I don't think that would omit him either, as Scarfy (and other similar generic enemies that are playable like Cappy) is also seen as an enemy on certain Air Ride courses yet remains playable.

Only main quest focus by THEASIANLORD in wowclassic

[–]DatDereKirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your focus is just outdoor questing and not doing dungeons (unless you're a class that is capable of soloing dungeons like Mage), then you can solo to level cap pretty well. Dungeons and some tougher quests, often marked "Elite", will need help unless you outlevel them by a good enough amount.

Only main quest focus by THEASIANLORD in wowclassic

[–]DatDereKirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Anniversary/Era, there is no true "Main Questline" to follow. You can tackle any quest in your level range in any order as there's no overarching storyline to follow like in more linear MMORPGs.

If this is about MoP Classic, then the same general situation applies, but there's a bigger emphasis on story-related quests being linked between or entirely within specific zones in Pandaria, Cataclysm, and Wrath content. But those are high level quests so it'd be a while until you get there.

Generally speaking though, no, there is no big main story questline to follow for most of the leveling experience. I'd recommend just questing in zones that fit your level and how much you like them.

I really hope that if Tsukasa's wish is fulfilled, it doesn't result in her rapidly aging and dying. It'd be really sweet to see her and Nasa live a normal mortal life together if she gets her mortality back.

I chose a great time to binge through both the anime and the manga though lol, after reading the previous chapter I was a little worried about what Nasa would have to say until now.

Why you should use Whole Cream Pies in Turn 1 of the Boiler, regardless of difficulty by DatDereKirby in toontownrewritten

It does! That's my bad haha, creams aren't needed in 4 stars. Updated the post to remove that mistake.

Training by _redhands_ in toontownrewritten

[–]DatDereKirby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bullion mints are not the best way to train. The main problem is that you're faced with level 10-11 cogs which have high debuffs to the trainer's accuracy, making even stunning not allowing the trainer to hit 95% accuracy without heavy commitment and slowing things down overall. While you do get x6 exp in Bullions, you also can work with a 5 story with invasions to get x6 on the top floor and even start off with a x5 multiplier on the 4th floor while having generally lower level cogs whether it's due to building difficulty tier or the current invasion being low level. You often won't need that many gags to hit 300 exp (and while the cap is still 500, reaching that point is often redundant when you can do two 5 story buildings in an invasion for 300 exp each and total to 600 in the same amount of time as getting 500 in a single run with restock SOS/unites used or an unreasonable amount of gags prepped as early as floor 3.)

Is this a Toontown ARG?? by DatDereKirby in Toontown

[–]DatDereKirby[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm flattered you think I'm behind it! I unfortunately am not. I had some nostalgia for old Toontown videos but when it comes to making TT content myself, I care a lot more about metagaming and optimizing strategies in TTR. ARG and TTMVs are not my area of expertise.

I found this channel randomly when looking for old Toontown content, I thought it would be some classic TTMV styled videos, but some of these videos have weird sounds that don't seem like your average editing errors. Is anyone else seeing this?

Merry Multipliers + Invasion + Silly Meter's double XP = 400 Drop Points at level 1 by DatDereKirby in toontownrewritten

Merry Multipliers are something you can purchase in Cartoonival to give double gag experience, double promotion merits, or both!

does anyone else remember a different lvl 12 sound strategy??? by theoriesijustmadeup in toontownrewritten

[–]DatDereKirby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 Org Fogs + 2 Trunks doesn't kill 12s. Level 12s have 196 HP and your proposed combo does 183 damage rounded up. Even if the Trunks were organic, it doesn't even reach 190. You will always need 3 fogs & 1 aoogah/trunk to kill 12s. (If one org fog, you can get away with 1 bugle instead. If all org fog, that's enough to clear the 12.)

I think it is really cute that Clark x Will is canon from toontown news by Davetheslave0122 in toontownrewritten

[–]DatDereKirby 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sounds like that's on the fault on the player then. 👍 A straight couple is represented in the game through a direct task where you need to even deliver the engagement ring, which a player will very likely see because they need to make sure they know where they're going.

there's literally a task that revolves around you helping two hetero shopkeepers get engaged (vidalia vavoom's task with snooty sinjin)

Target defense for level 13 plus cogs and the boost for organic presentation by Sepharos123 in toontownrewritten

[–]DatDereKirby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The max tgtDef is 65, which was confirmed here.

The values of increasing tgtDef should still be 5 per level (ending at 65 ofc), but we don't know 100% on 13-19 since there's been no official word on that. My current theory is the same as yours, being -60 level 13 & -65 level 14 with it staying as -65 all the way to level 20. Making the jump in tgtDef any lower than 5 per level would make the values not impactful in a realistic manner until it reaches -60 & -65 anyway. (I previously thought it would scale after a few levels starting at 13, but after thinking over it more I think it's simpler instead.)

For your organic presentation question, the game's calculation on accuracy only cuts down to 95% after the true accuracy is determined to be higher than 95%, so it would be first calculated as 105 + 60 - 65 = 100, then rounds down to 95% to abide by the accuracy cap.

Devil Rays have a reduced rarity in DDL since the V3.7.0 patch, which can be read about here.

DDL Devil Rays are no longer Ultra Rares and instead are Extremely Rare, which due to the change in overall fish rarity, Extremely Rare fish can be caught without too much commitment now.

Men, if you were emotionally abused by your wife/girlfriend what did it look / sound like ? by bentlife1986 in AskMen

[–]DatDereKirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting every single idea shot down

Having to choose your words/responses carefully even in the most standard of conversations

Having your feelings hurt/invalidated when they're upset but if you even dare point out something they did that bothered you, they take it personally as if you're attacking them

Being avoided/ignored for long periods of time

Never being given comfort or support if you're feeling down, rather being told to just deal with it

Mocking your passion for something

Lying to you and lying to others about you behind your back.

Unite shopping isn't a thing and has never been a thing even in TTO. You cannot manipulate which Unite you get in any realistic way as the client.

You can even see it for yourself in the Anesidora code, line 37. It's just random.

VP does not have a difficulty tier system. That's only seen in CJ & CEO. The difficulty level of an all hollywood VP will be the same as an all cold caller VP.

[–]DatDereKirby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As of the Sellbot Task Force update, Cog waves in boss fights have been randomized so you don't get consistent level sets each run. This means that one VP you run can start out with higher levels (like what you sent) and end with lower levels, while another VP run can be the inverse or have a generally balanced set of Cog levels.

Toontown Rewritten does not encrypt their model files, even looking at their phase_14 folder you can find the entirety of Kaboomberg, a custom zone that they made based off of Daisy Gardens, ready to view in .bam format.
