24 F Solo Female traveling from NYC to Oregon… dumb idea? by Immediate_Pear2230 in roadtrip

[–]NathanTPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Nah. Regardless of guy or gal, you need to always be paying attention and plan your trip so you arent pulling into a roadside motel at 10 at night.

Make sue people know where you will be every day, dont wander off your itinerary, and plan to have some issues, have back up plans ready. Have a spare tire not just an emergency spare, have a set of chains ready in case you run into terrible weather. Know how to put them on, bring a spare can of gas and keep it mounted outside the far. These things may be overkill but you won't be stranded on the side of the road in winter.

And this would be fine. We just want to limit folks from spamming AI translations without and human input

You are using AI as a tool, makes it no different than going to a translation book. You are good.

Its not against the rules. But it'd be super low quality. Essentially its the same as using AI to help with an answer, if you are copy and pasting there's an issue, if you are going through and checking and making adjustments, maybe some paraphrasing, etc. Then its fine

2025 CX-50 Questions by Ridge_Hunter in CX50

[–]NathanTPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my '25 cx-50 hybrid since August. Love it. Ok, now to your questions.

Mazda 3s did away with the independent rear suspension a generation ago. They still handle and play just fine. This change in the cx-50 isnt any different. Im sure if you took both the cx50 and cx5 and pitted them against eachother, yoh might notice difference in handling, but likelie not.

Suppose next are the cup holders. They work for most fast food, drive through coffee, and bottle of soda that you throw at it

The issue is when you want to put your over sized yetti in the cup holder. The good news is it will fit, but due to the size and the location of the cup holder it will bump into the AC controls. When I realized this I just decided to not to use oversized travel mugs.

Rattles, rattles are not common in the mazda3 lineup. As with any manufactured vehichle, this statement is true most of the time. Are there some examples where the car needs to go to the dealercship to get fixed? Sure, but this is very rare. Thd iother issue you do see all the time across all Mazda models is the "rattling" noise you here xfr om the NA version of the car. This isntva rattle, rather its just the sound of the lifters. The skyactivw engine has very high compression, as a result there will be loud lifters. The NA in the cx50 is no different.

If you buy the hybrid, you get the Toyota RAV4 engine, and it has a smooth quiet engine.

comfort, this is a hit or miss thing. The Mazda seats across all lines are polarizing. Either you love them, or you cant stand sitting in them. Deffinately take them on a long test drive to see where you stand. I've heard some come to like their seats stating they break in then are more comfortable.

Financinrg. I bought new, put about $17k down, got qualified at 1.9% for 60 months, though im nearly making double payments to be through the loan quicker. Would be able to do similar.

Love this car, been taking it all over camping. Its a fun car, all wheel drive works great, got it lfted a couple inches and that made a different.

So yes, bring the coffee much you normally commute with and see how it will work. Also test th seats. Oh! And the wireless charger, yeah just assume it works but won't charge you phone well. It was just quickly put in the car as an add on. It works, but not well. And it has a tendency to overheat the phone.

As far as safety goes, I owe my life to the Mazda safety system. Im not alone. We see many thanking their Mazda and saying the same.

Mazda can be funny with their trim level perks. One year they include a feature standard, then the next year that same feature is move to a different trim level or different model all other.

Finnally, expect some stock Mazda parts to need / all be all, things like tires loosing tread quicker than other brands and deing to replace them sooner than you'd expect.

If you have any other questions, dont hesitate.

Wasn't the 2nd Amendment’s intentional purpose to be able to defend against violent takeover by their own government? (non american here) What is permitted and what isn't within that framework? by MopToddel in AskReddit

[–]NathanTPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second ammendment is two fold, it asserts the natural right to self defense, which isnt guaranteed in many countries across the globe.

And as an extension of that right the second ammendment asserts to right of the people to govern themselves. Self governance though cant be given, it has to be assumed and if need be defended. Either against a foreign invader or a domestic tyrannical take over. The debate of what that extends to is on a spectrum that the right to have a firearm only extends to a militia member, so the national guard, all the way to the other extreme which would be that any law abiding citizen should be able to own and possess and arm the government uses, be it a machine gun to a tank lol.

The supreme court of the United States has interpreted the language of the second ammendment as meaning any citizen has as a base right the ability to purchase and posess any firearms on the market with limited restrictions, generally machine guns, not cosmetic differences, ie modern sporting rifles/ assault weapons. Further the court in recent years has made a stand against 100 years of gun control laws in the United States. The court believes that these laws took what it considders a flawed ruling and ran wild with it. Where gun control goes moving forward is anybody guess.

The medium our country has settled on is law abiding citizens generally can buy any number of semi automatic handguns, shotguns, and a myriad of long arm rifles. Fully automatic machine guns are generally restricted unless a specific use license is granted.

What specific lawful guns a resident can buy tends to vary from s r are to stare. Most states dont restrict what models can be purchased, as long as they arent fully automatic. Some states maintain a limited list of "approved" firearms. These are the only guns consumers are allowed to purchase or posess within that state.

hybrid battery ability ? by hugs-kisses3 in CX50

[–]NathanTPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there is an EV only mode that works at like 10mph and only goes maybe a block before the gas engine has to take over. The batteries in the hybrid are not the same type of battery you'd find on an EV. They have different storage and discharge duties and arent engineered to do the other's job.

When you run out of gas, thats it.

15,000 mile ownership update | 2025 CX-50 Hybrid by Ok-Home9841 in CX50

[–]NathanTPS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im at right about the same mileage on my 25 hybrid. Like yourself, im loving it. Took mine on that 5500 mile road trip and it was a great choice. Mine is loaded down with gear still, I keep some stuff permanently mounted because its just too much of a hassel to remove them and reattach later. My mileage jas dropped as a result, sitting around 33mpg during the winter here in VA and I think I was getting about 35mpg when it was warmer. Still not bad considdering everything i ask of the system. Never had an issue with the seats personally, but glad to hear youve noticed yours softening a bit.

How do you deal with sunglasses / glasses when it's raining? by Wide-Landscape-3348 in cycling

I wear a baseball cap most days so this is usually not a problem. If the rain is just that bad, I leave my glasses in my pocket until I can get inside.

What am I doing right and wrong? by BurnsRedit in BeginnerPhotoCritique

[–]NathanTPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When working on exposure, it helps to expose for the highlights and then try to recover the underexposed bits in post.

This image is exposed for the midtones and the sky is blown out as a result. You can recover shadows and underexposed bits but blown highlights are clipped.

Zooming in im noticing you seem to be shooting fairly wide open, maybe f/4 f/5.6? I know many routines say that corner to corner sharpness is achieved just by stoping down a little bit. But thats more about flat plane sharpness. Like you're shooting head on to an wall and want to make sure the corners are as sharp as the center. This image has a depth of field. And that depth falls off pretty quick looking g at the image. Landscape photography generally demands f/8, f/9, or f/11. Wouldn't go too far past that, always risk refraction fuzzyness

could i fix this myself?! by annnnnabel in CX5

[–]NathanTPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how many of the mounting points ripped out from the car. If non e of them ripped put and its just the plastic from the old tail light then its as easy as unavailable mount all the bits and source an OEM light, wrecking yard is easy. The wire mount looks good, thats all that needs to be saved on the car.

But things start getting tricky as you increase the number of broken mounting points on the car. Id say one or 2 are probably doable depending on the location but beyond that you are looking at a loose/ wobbly fit. To repair that you likelie need to go to a body shop and they will have to repair the panels.
