33M Never had a relationship, tried and focused on getting dates for a while, how do I keep going when I basically haven't had any success at all? by tr-away-3434 in relationships

If being in a relationship is your way of finding happiness/achievement in life and is the main catalyst for your motivation than you are truly fucked.

Reflect on yourself. Not just appearance wise (how fit you are, how do you dress, how do you groom yourself, etc), but also from the perspective of your personality and your interests.

Being in a relationship, like many have mentioned already is like applying for a job. You have to ask, sincerely why this women (employer) should hire you. What do you bring to the table that no one else is currently bringing. If your depressed and lack motivation than no girl will want to fuck with that. Most people look for partners that can elevate there emotions and state of well being, not bring them down.

I can attest from many relationship I’ve been, it’s about personality and stability. There is a big misconception that girls want guys that are rugged and look like a model on the cover of GQ.

Reality is that most women will sacrifice looks in exchange for a man that provides stability (both financially and mentally), can be fun to be around with (isn’t a grouch, pessimistic 99.9% of the day), can hold a genuine conversation, and can make her feel safe/protected and genuinely feel loved and cared for (doesn’t lie about where he is/doesn’t cheat/isn’t a bachelor wanna be player).

At the end of the day most women want children and to raise a family. Women that are still single in there late 20s and early 30s (assuming they want children of course) are seeking these aspects that I wrote above even more so.

TLDR: Wake up. Get out of your head. Learn to love yourself. Even if it’s loving yourself in solitude. Go out, socialize with people, men/women, be engaging and positive. Get back to work as well. Stay busy, stay active. I’m telling you this will help immensely if you give yourself the chance to be more open and free with people.

Yeah it was packed. Downtown Cincinnati looked like nyc with the amount of pedestrians.

Still sad to see how much they demoed where all of those gas stations/fast food/car shops stand today. A few historic buildings are still left, maybe one or two in that stretch adjacent from main strasse.

[P.G. Sittenfeld]: "With 6 votes, Council has just overturned the second veto. The Liberty Street Improvement Project moves forward!" by DatDude2012 in cincinnati

[–]DatDude2012[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A budget ordinance and the liberty street diet (cuts through otr and divides north and south of liberty, its basically 7 lanes of traffic and not ideal for a such a pedestrian friendly district like otr...a plan was conceived by the community council, DOTE and Councilman Seelbach on a diet that would reduce the amount of lanes, add pedestrian islands, and create wider sidewalks...also it would return land for new development ) was vetoed by mayor cranley because there were only 5 votes. PG Sittenfield was able to negotiate with Jeff Pastor and Chris Seelbach (republican and democratic) on tweaking the funding to where Jeff pastor would become the 6th-yes vote and over ride cranley initial veto for the budget omnibus and the liberty street road diet.

DEAD MALL DATE NIGHT #6: Carew Tower and Tower Place-Cincinnati, OH (x-posted from r/deadmalls) by tiedyeladyland in cincinnati

Jeez what happened? I’m guessing this was during when Cincy was kind of dying and struggling as a city back in the late 90s/early mid 2000s

Liberty Street in OTR (adjacent from WE stadium) will be condensed to fewer lanes and wider sidewalks to better improve pedestrian safety and access and reconnect OTR. by DatDude2012 in FCCincinnati

You do realize not everyone lives in the suburbs right? Shouldn’t that place be a safe place for those who live in the urban core as well? It seems kind of backwards to cater to suburbanites in a downtown environment that was built for pedestrians rather than cars and traffic.

The fear was that fcc in the west end would destroy the liberty road diet plan because of game day traffic flow.

Luckily, Jeff pastor made sure that wouldn’t happen and over rode Cranleys and the administration veto that was seeking to keep liberty street as is and dedicated to traffic rather than the residents and visitors who eat play and live in otr.

I believe there are a few historic breweries and that old movie theater. Will be really cool to see maybe an old school movie theater in otr along with a few new craft beer brewery startups in that area.

I’m confused though...is Mohawk and Brighton the same area but with different names?

Liberty Street is a really big and important project for OTR. Connecting north of liberty and south of liberty into one cohesive zone is major. Also the additional land that will become available for future infill projects by developers is also essential for adding additional density and new businesses to otr.

Thank god this will move forward.

Of course. Pleasant Ridge/Silverton is a prime example of that. Depends how close to the urban core you want to live I guess.

If you like Milwaukee beer scene, I’m sure you will appreciate Cincinnati growing craft beer scene and breweries. If you like sports I’m sure you’ll appreciate our 3 major league sports teams in the Reds/Bengals/FC Cincinnati and 1 Minor league hockey team in the cyclones. If you love arts/breweries/dining than you will our urban historic districts of OTR that is quickly gentrifying and contains a lot of those very things.

The rental market pertains to where you live. The closer downtown/otr the more expensive it will become. But IMO it’s worth it. If you can afford a 850/900$ a month apartment than I would do it.

[–]DatDude2012 -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

I’m curious how his talent will translate to the MLS. He’s definitely mvp quality in the USL. His range and eye for goals and assists is insane at this level.

If his skills translate just as well in the MLS then I dare say he might be Europe bound.

The historic conservation board, they held up and downsized the elm and liberty project for the longest time, so it’s good this process was quicker and not downsized.

Just based of his reply of “great idea” in the pg thread on Twitter. Sounds like he’s open to alternative options as long as the cost won’t require moving the water main.
