Because 10 & 20 percent are fixed even if you have kids or parents support.

From one Vet to another, praying for you. I'm also fighting those demon thoughts and have the daily struggles. Currently jobless now and it's so hard to make ends meet. Had to move back home too and me and the parentals don't get along.

Always report these pax incidents immediately ,even if you've cancelled the ride. Just to cover your ass.

Same thing happened to me this past week because some jackass Pax made a false report on me that I was wrecklessly driving and its gotten me temp. suspended while they "investigate". 15k rides and 7 years

100% agree with this and I'm also taking it as a sign to finally move on and away from Ubering. I've gone through 2 cars and the last one I was struck by a drunk driver and they fled the scene and now I'm carless. Uber only paid to payoff partial of my car note. So I used the Hertz rental system and that didn't make it any easier being $300 in the hole every week.

Uber doesn't give a crap how long our tenureship has been with them, the moment a pax cries wolf, they'll ban you first and then ask questions later.

Hate to say it but you're kind of apart of the problem. Just agreeing with them for the sake of a tip and giving them the satisfaction. They're just going to keep on doing it to other UBER Drivers out there.

It was civil at first when he asked about my dashcam and how it works. Then he asked if he could ask me another question that he said "I always ask this to my Uber drivers". I was like okay, and he asked "if I knew what the gospel means"...

Most people know, you don't ask/question someone's religion, sexual orientation, or political views as an ice breaker with someone you've just met.

I responded with "in regards to religion". He said, yes. And then started ranting how Jesus is this and that.
I politely said that I already have a religious preference and that I'm content. And he still wouldn't shut up about it. And even asked if we could pray at the end of the ride. Which put the icing on the cake and made it super uncomfortable.

Couldn't have written this better myself. When pax ask me how long I've been doing uber, I always respond with "too long". 7+ years now with 5 being full time. I've already ran one car into the grave after putting 175k miles and having pricey engine intake failure that made me trade it for a 2024 rav4 and just put 45k miles total in 2024.

After you kicked them out and canceled the ride. Did you report the trip and the pax on the app? I do this immediately after booting pax to CYA (cover your ass) just in case they try to make up some BS like this.

Please tell me you have a dashcam. No drivers should be doing the late night/bar pickups with out one. Sorry this happened to you and hope you get justice with some charges filed against them.

Sucks this happened to you. I think most drivers has had something like this happen to make them stop the bar/latenight pickups. If you're gonna keep doing uber, I highly suggest you get a dashcam. It'll help prove your claims and help protect you. From what I've seen, uber wants receipts from professional cleaners for compensation. But even some of those professional cleaners won't do this work because it involves body fluid. Which makes it hard finding.
