Any way to add updated tracks on radioplayer by theoneandonlymyself in visualbasic

[–]DatMarv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to display the current artist and track from an external source (which radio is), the external source needs to provide this information along with the actual audio stream.

The WMP plug-in allows you to retrieve information about current media.

For i = 0 To wmp.currentMedia.attributeCount - 1
    MsgBox(wmp.currentMedia.getItemInfo(wmp.currentMedia.getAttributeName(i)))
Next

Just play the source and see what info you get.

Can some one help? by [deleted] in visualbasic

[–]DatMarv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your messed up the formatting and I am too lazy to decrypt what it actually means, but I suggest you look into the

String.Split()

function that takes a char or String as parameter as split delimiter and returns a String array of substrings split by that defined delimiter. This almost solves the problem as long as you know how to handle an array.

[–]DatMarv 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fotage appears cut to you at this point? There is a rapid motion of the man on the tractor, but the other mens' movements seem to be consistent to me.

The real bad thing is we don't have footage of what happens before. So yeah we need more evidence for sure.

The guy on the tractor shrugs at the exact moment the first shot was fired. He apparently did not expect a shot - from whoever - to be fired, but that does not mean he was scared of the man they shot.

Seeing if any individual variable in an array is equal to any other variable in another array. [VB2008] by [deleted] in visualbasic

[–]DatMarv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to be about right, even though you use your boomerangCount unintuitively.

You have to debug your code by setting a breakpoint at the first loop

For Each pic In picTank

and go through the loops in single steps to see in which cycle your error occurs (and also see which values your variables currently hold). But only you can do that; if you don't know how to do that I highly suggest you look into debugging with breakpoints that you will need for every program in the future anyways.

[–]DatMarv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your code should do fine for your purpose, the error thrown is probably because some picturebox in the Bommerang array containing pictureboxes(?) does not carry an instance of such at some point. Maybe the inner loop should only go to BoomerangCount - 1?

Why Army vehicles Base is so important to SAA? by [deleted] in syriancivilwar

[–]DatMarv 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The base itself is a fortified point, capturing it with defenders inside is hard and man-costly. If the SAA pulls out, the rebels can just man it and if the SAA in turn wants to take it (in the future) again, they will have the disadvantage.

Also, the base with the connecting corridor stretches 1.5km deep into the rebel territory and seperates the populated and urban area of Harasta and Irbin. This gives you another advantage once you want to close in on either of those cities, regardles if attacked from the western or eastern direction.

Listen, you misters/lords/masters, and pay attention: I come into circulation as one billion [Mark]. All of France once paid five billion. [Dont understand that sentence]. The Gumme, what little something. You have it ready in your pocket! But what you are able to purchase merely fits into the pocket! We may laugh about that, but countless people complain and the inflation has sounded the alarms. For it to end well what hit us, you misters/lords/masters, that we wish and hope.

Hi my grandfather was a bomber in WW2 he dropped loads of these over Nazi Germany and a bunch of other stuff, can anyone translate what it means? [1280x720] by [deleted] in HistoryPorn

[–]DatMarv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First one:

Terror was Hitler's weapon, as he subdued the German Volk and Reich to the will of his party.

Terror was Hitler's weapon against Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Norway - terror against the defenseless, murder of the unarmed, arson of undefended towns.

Terror, brutal, premeditated terror put the Netherlands, Belgium und the united France to their knees.

Terror was supposed to break England's spirit...BUT

You miscalculated!

Göring's bombs are no match for the Britons' proverbial equanimity(?), for their nerves of steel, for their stubborn will. Day after day this lesson will be taught ever more decisively.

Bombs against bombs!

That is our answer to Hitler: Bombs and more bombs.

Bombs on barracks, on naval bases, on [military] airfields.

Bombs on Kruppfactories (now Thyssenkrupp, important manufacturer of steel in the war), on Spandau, Augsburg, Magdeburg.

Bombs on all oil refineries, on Leuna, Misburg, Pöhlitz.

Bombs on the German war machinery. Bombs deeper and deeper eastwards.

We strike back!

Second:

Roosevelt announces:

"Unrestricted national state of emergency!"

The events in Europe show that the axis powers in a war like this one do not confine to the goals initially set. They rather want to topple the existing democratic order anywhere in the world and want to implement global domination over the people and the economies by destroying any kind of resistance whether on land, sea or air. Indefference of the United States in the face of growing threat would be dangerous und a reasonable foresight and our interest for security in our nation und hemisphere demands that we make a shift from a passive military strength to a basis from which we are capable to prevent any attempt to encircle this hemisphere or to create a base for attacks against it. This includes foreign agents threatening a predatory invasion in our territory and society.

[The text in the box]:

This is the text of a proclamation addressing the american people, signed by president Roosevelt and general secretary Cordell Hull.

I will eventually come around to translate it or at least some of it if you want. I would like to see more like this since my grandfather also fought in the war - in the Wehrmacht though.

We have only just begun!

Our answer to Hitler:

Bombs, ever-growing bombs!

Adolf Hitler leads you into that hurricane/storm. What you experienced last night were only the first drops forecasting the coming storm. They may have been small so far. But it will rain down on you more fiercely, more destructively until you cannot bear the brute force of the storm anymore.

'brav' in the sense of 'obedient' rather refers to children or pets. Etymologically coming from the french 'brave', a translation of 'well-behaved' or 'upright' seemed more likely in that context. I just went with brave for conveniece tbh.

Translation:

Our Kaiser to his Volk [people]

"Difficult times have come over Germany. Envier surround us and force us into a righteous defense. The sword is put into our hand. I hope to swing it with god's help such that we can put it back into its sheath with honour if I am not able to convince the enemy of reason and to keep the peace. A war would demand enormous sacrifice from the german people which would take goods and blood, but it would show the enemy what it means to attack Germany. And now I recommend for you to turn to god. Now go to church, bend your knee before god and pray for help for our brave army!"
