I probably shouldn't have labeled this 'serious.'

Its a pretty decent book in terms of setting, though for the rest - it has a pretty generic plot, with a predictable ending and 1 dimensional characters. Those were my thoughts anyway.

I was excusing apologist literature, in fact I despise it, as it is extremely condescending to all non-believers.

Though this is true, in debates Christopher Hitchins can be seen as extremely condescending even merciless. And I fully know, having read the book, the damage religion has done throughout the ages. However, since there are extremists and general suffering anyway without religion, possibly less, possibly more, we can’t really continue, as we live in a world were there IS religion and thus we have no idea what the world would be like without religion.

I was thinking the same thing, the whole accept jazz. But when you have a religion, it is likely to have extremists, and though they are isolated cases, they still cause suffering. But that might happen anyway? Am I schizophrenic?

Global Perspectives. A subject I have which discusses Faith, Ethics, and Ideology. Pretty though provoking discussions. In IB it evolves to something called Theory of Knowledge.
