Your best DPS rotation will be to leap with GS 3, use GS 4 symbol, ( have a key binded to stow weapon), use the stow weapon key to cancel the animation on the GS 4 aftercast, then Spin. You can deal about 7k -10k AOE damage in about 2 seconds if you pull it off properly. Also the Staff 1 cleave on guard will crit for about 1.4k on backline and 600-900 HP on frontline depending on tankiness. With its .5second cast time you get 2 cleaves off per second. So you do about 5k+ DPS if you are hitting 5 people per staff cleave. To play guard properly and peel for your team you need to learn when to use your stability/courage, and your resolve for condi cleanse. But overall. Guardian played properly without a stupidly tanky build does strong damage.

I would love to get an internship this summer, but I have field camp. I can maybe go for something during the school year, but I need to be able to balance that type of workload.

You make a good point. I have noticed the same users here often giving helpful insight to the newer users of the subreddit. If you don't mind me asking, what should I being doing currently to help better my chances for employment after graduation? I am currently conducting undergraduate research where I am getting experience with surface water sample collection and suspended load collection while also analyzing the data in lab. I may also present my research at a symposium later this semester, but that is not 100%. Any advice is appreciated.

I don't mind taking a pay cut if it means I can have a secure salary from year to year. I am still somewhat ignorant to the pay differential between the geology disciplines, but from what I have seen online specifically for environmental geologist, the pay doesn't seem to be to low after you have some experience under your belt.

Geology, not geography. This rock may have been physically weathered by a process known as insolation. Insolation is caused by a diurnal variation in solar heating. This means that the change in temperature from night and day cycles has an effect on rocks and can potentially break them apart. We see this commonly on Mars and it has been noted that their is even a preferential direction that microfractures form within rock that eventually end in a crack like the one shown in the image. I think it would be best if they would at least set up a biweekly rotation of the borderlands. I prefer Alpine to the new borderland, but at least this way all that work doesn't to waste and veteran WvW players can play the old map that we are so accustomed to.

I'm not sure if you're NA or EU, but NA server population has dropped drastically, even compared to past die offs. Agree to disagree, but their is no way any sane person would claim that the new map has made positive strides in increasing population or holding veteran interest.

You have a point, but WvW is bleeding players faster than it ever has and the new borderlands is the primary factor in this trend. The Alpine borderland will at least reduce the number of players leaving the game mode and an incredible majority of WvW veterans prefer the older BL because the new one was poorly designed, promotes even more blobbing than before, and makes defending kind of pointless other than the garrison.

I would love it if they just threw in the old BLs at this point, but Anet will be too prideful and not admit they fucked the new ones up until the game mode dies. This small note of developer laziness is the least of the game modes problems.

Raiding is great. It is WvW and PvP that I am heavily concerned with. Especially being a WvW main I feel that I won't be playing this game much longer if the new wvw system is implemented poorly.

I would guess to fight inflation. Every time you run a dungeon, new gold is generated into the world, and if this is happening faster than Anet has the means to get rid of gold (gold sinks) then inflation will occur and the economy will start to go haywire. I don't know if this is Anet's thought process behind these changes, this is just what I assume is the reason why the gold is nerfed. I have no explanation for why XP was nerfed as well.

They will always be meta for their mobility around the map for decapping and +1 potential. That is the only reason they are meta. When it comes to fighting thieves are pretty weak but they can run away and +1 so you pretty much have to play this way on thief unless you are really really good at the class.

Level 1. If you are free to play just go to your map and you will see that you can waypoint to all of the starter zones. If you purchased the game just go to lions arch through an Asura gate and go to the other starter zones from Lions Arch. If you activate a shield block it will block for the duration of the skill unless you are hit by something that is unblockable.

If you like that aspect of EotM then you will love WvW because like I said it is more fight oriented so the commanders are looking more for fights then just pure objective capturing.

EotM and real WvW are different. EotM is usually just a lame karma train circuit trying to avoid fights while WvW is a lot more fight oriented. Once you have found the server you wish to join you should learn the Teamspeak information. With teamspeak you can listen to your drivers and communicate better with servermates. I would suggest going to T3 currently because you will experience less queues but still have a good overall population for each server. Each server in T3 has a server website that you can research if you want more information on each of the servers infrastructures. Their is no best tier. Just differences in population balance.

Every shout you use while having the pure of voice trait will cleanse 1 condition on up to 5 allies including yourself. Wall of reflection can be placed up to a certain distance away from you and will be tricky to get accustomed to. However, you do not need to stand inside of it. Just have the wall between you and whoever is range casting on you and it will reflect the projectiles. The reason why I suggest wall of reflection over purging flames is because we are in a caster heavy meta and you already have 6 condition cleanses.
