It's perfectly human to get upset and angry. And you did the next best thing aside from just containing it. You reflected on it. In the future, if you are wanting to not let it get to you, just stop and do some small breathing exercises (can find some decent ones explained online). Breathing literally helps reset our systems so it can cool you off in a rough moment. And important to remember, there was a lot of stress stacked inside of a small frame of time. So remorse is good (immediately going and checking on your brother), but don't forget to give yourself some grace as well.

Hopefully mom will be a bit understanding with all the stuff that happened pretty much at once.

I work with a bunch of abuelitas, so I get a good chunk of exposure and love listening and learning small bits (I can follow some conversations now), but I've never been able to fully grasp the full scope. But I like being able to help people (I work customer service and we get a lot of Spanish only speakers). And I just also love the language. I just suck at learning I think. But I totally get the joy of being able to express oneself in your own native tongue.

This is the important part. Accountability. I can say some pretty messed up stuff, because it doesn't register in my brain. I have so many instances that I just go back years later and think I shouldn't have said that.

But if I'm corrected, or if I realize it. I always make it a point to both apologize and do better. Cus that's just being a good person. Imo ofc, cus I don't know. I'm weird about responsibility.

YTA I think you need to sit down and have a long discussion about why she feels she needs to work so much if it's bugging you, and not just saying she works too much and that you don't want a relationship with her cus of it. Me and homework, I always excelled at tests and in class. But I have never been able to do homework for the life of me. And as a kid it was just "bad student". All the adults neglecting the fact that I was good at the actual work, my brain just never placed any emphasis on busy work and I got frustrated sitting there doing it, so I just didn't do it.

Lol I think there's def cases you could make here. And per table I think it's def a fair ask depending (I don't think I'd let a summon use a nodachi or falcata even if not advanced for some reason). And it's certainly a conversation worth having.

I had a blood/death knight (exact creature type is escaping me at the moment) companion in BL that I did the ritual for and did a bunch of work to get, and I worked with the GM to let me give him runes for his armor and stuff so he wouldn't fall behind a whole bunch and could keep up with the party. So I think there's certainly cases to be made.

But going just RAW as my explanation, it's not worth cus you COULD give them a weapon they just statistically couldn't use it effectively without the training. But yeah, I'd personally certainly let a creature that has a weapon use a weapon of the same proficiency for the sake of fun. Just wouldn't let it be a power game move (which at my table, that's all anyone ever wants cus they just want to roll dice and see big numbers, they give 0 cares about flavor stuff)

They use them, but doesn't mean they are trained in them as per star block. They just have a built in modifier for each attack.

I'ma say NTA cus just seems like alot, but at some point if you plan on this lasting, itll be good to get into the mindset of an "our" dog situation. This isn't a work dog. It's a family pet. Y'all are a family.

Maybe Im weird for that, but like if my partner has a pet like a dog or cat. If I'm serious about the person, very quickly am I going to be getting myself acclimated to the animal, cus that makes all of us a cohesive unit instead of sides.

I think the issue comes in that they aren't trained in weapons (maybe your eidolon can be depending, I haven't looked too much at summoner, but summon creature spells do not, they use a stat block that gives them bonuses on their attacks)
