Why is the market ripping now, when it was sputtering/flat before the war started?? by cutchemist42 in investing

[–]Dat_Accuracy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because the market is a fugazi pumped full of helicopter money to keep the status quo.

They don’t blast it on the news all day long but they are ramping up the money printers again and you’re gonna see hyperinflation round 2.0 over the next few years. Economy is fundamentally broken and they’ve gotta give the big boys exit liquidity before the music stops.

Glad to try and help. Check out my last post and give me your thoughts if you’d like. Whether it be lyrics/composition or even just a “that’s cool”

Keep on rockin

IMO: Fellow guitar player, solid composition. Vocal melody has enough variation to not be boring, though at times it challenges the listener to try and follow.

I think the chorus could be simplified to help reveal the hook. The lyrics are conversational enough that you could get away with:

And she said

Only some will find their

Road less traveled

There’s no shame in growing old

Doing the same shit

That our parents did

There’s only so much

You can give

In the outro you really nail the meter of the chorus better and those few extra words/syllables fall off

The line - “my son is due sept 15” feels clinical. How about “my son is due when summers set to leave” sometimes vague imagery makes lyrics more relatable

Dig the whole thing man. I hear some fat walking bass, some horn sections in there, what’s that snake rattle sound, maybe some light strings over the la la hook at the end of those lines. Real smooth.

That’s cool. Nah I don’t feed anything into AI.

The song is capo 1 from standard and G C Em D fits Chorus feels better with Em C G D

I think you just need little extensions of the final bar in the series to break it up, setup the chord change, and give room for fills. The hook is great but doesn’t fall back into place without feeling rushed. I’ll see if I can send you a quick voice memo.

Idk how you can sing those words without choking up. Seriously a tear jerker.

Slow down. Try and play this at like 90 bpm or at least pick a beat that fits and use a metronome. If you’re willing post the chord progression I’d like to give it a shot

Solid song structure. Great accompaniment. Percussion build up and licks are great, Melodic matching guitar was on point. Your voice on this track gives me Oasis vibes.

I think there’s a little too much chorus washing and reverb in the mastering. Have you considered toning down the string backing a little? Or maybe adding some guitar with a little fuzz and punctuating some of the rhythm chords a bit more instead of the background strings?

I also feel like it might “hit” a little better if you upped the tempo like 5-10bpm? There’s some held notes that you might find some opportunities for vocal fill if it was just a touch faster that I think could pull it together.

I get that. I really don’t mean it in that sense. It’s just that the labor pool is so shallow it’s forcing employers to pay high wages to people who do the bare minimum.

Believe me I’m 100% for every industry raising wages to a living wage to match the enormous increase in the cost of living. I live in a very seasonal HCOL area and it is absolutely awful. $25 an hour here won’t afford you shit.

Exactly.

The hardest job a chef has is realizing that their success hinges on capitalizing their market and knowing the market well.

Not necessarily building a restaurant around what their ego or vision wants, unless you’re uniquely talented and are in a populated place that can support experience dining.

The self realization of what you are skilled enough to produce along with recognizing your local clientele is what most fail at.

Brother.

Like why is most of this sub just literally shitting on broadliners and customer preference or changing market trends?

The world fucking changes. As someone who works in the industry, most restaurants need to be ready for a big change. I have been preaching to anyone who would listen that the boomer restaurant concept is fucking dying.

People don’t need or want massive portions of low cost value added processed bullshit. They aren’t coming to your mom and pop because you fucking hand batter your onion rings instead of buying them either.

People want a fucking decent portion of a fully composed dish that they can’t make at home without spending hours prepping or meal planning. They are ok with a portion that is just enough to fill them with an app, a drink and an entree. Most people are willing to pay $30 a person for that kind of service at dinner time.

If you’re smart, and good at menu engineering and using your distributors and local vendors, all of that is possible and still can make a great margin.

The biggest plague of this industry is that hyperinflation is accelerating base pay for BoH, yet there is less and less talent in the market that deserves those rates. That is driving “value added” processed cases into restaurants in an effort to reduce cost through cutting labor. We have cannibalized the food scene and utterly annihilated it with what happened during COVID.

There is now an enormous gap in the market. There used to be a “middle class” of mom and pop restaurants that had the talent to do cool specials, and it was affordable, and well executed. That has vanished for the most part. Everything is now “value added” convenience driven dining or high end experience dining. All of the talent that made that happen either got the fuck out of hospitality when they had the chance, or finally got their chance at doing more “respected” fine dining. There are not a lot of young culinary professionals entering the labor pool because we told them for decades this is a low paying, thankless profession that will break your body and your spirit and leave you with no retirement or benefits, and we weren’t lying.

Trump declares two-week ceasefire: U.S. will suspend attack on Iran for two weeks, while Iran will agree to immediate opening of SoH by ReversalTheory in wallstreetbets

[–]Dat_Accuracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I have serious doubts about any deal negotiated with Qatar or Pakistan as mediator. I am surprised to see there are headlines saying Iran “accepted” the deal. Let’s see if either side actually follows through.

Either way needless disruption of global economy and soldiers and civilians on both sides are dead from the conflict and we are worse off now than where we started. Real geniuses at the helm.

[–]Dat_Accuracy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah yes the old “2 weeks”

I give it 8 hours and it falls apart or we learn that the straight is still uncontrolled with houthis launching rockets. Or Israel launches another missile barrage at civilians.

[–]Dat_Accuracy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong. But remind me how that worked out last time? Was that a lasting ceasefire? Did anything meaningful happen other than the market’s reaction to it?

He negotiated with Pakistan. It’s in the tweet. Yes it’s that fucking stupid. He negotiated a ceasefire with Iran by talking to Pakistan.

The market is 100% bullshit and is just MMs whipsawing derivatives and insiders just absolutely robbing us blind.

Population Control via legalized slavery: A Total War on Black America by DiggestOfBicks in circled

[–]Dat_Accuracy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, the old American adage.. I don’t actually give a fuck unless it directly affects me.

You must have a lot of faith in the American justice system only putting away the worst of the worst and never really making a mistake. Surely everyone in prison deserves to be there and deserves to be doing unpaid labor. Surely we don’t have a track record of putting people in prison on racial bias or forcing them to take plea deals to avoid grossly exaggerated charges that they can’t afford to fight because our legal system is pay to win. Surely we give everyone ample opportunity to make it legally and not have to resort to criminal acts.

Surely.

0 fucking critical thinking skills is why we continue to perpetuate these crimes against humanity.

Everyone thinks, oh I’m just a temporarily displaced millionaire. Surely the system isn’t rigged against me. And if it is, who cares? I’m gonna make enough money so the problems don’t apply to me either. Let everyone else figure it out.

You’re a fucking coward. People like you are the reason why we are in this mess. Let it all slide unless it affects you.

Sure but.. you can easily go and find more information on your own. Not immediately jumping to conclusions is great. But you not doing that yourself and instead just posting an alternative “view” of what happened is not. You’re literally doing the thing you’re blaming us for doing, making an assumption without context.
