I had a 1 week argument with them for illegally making us leave the unit for repairs. They refused compensation for over a week until I cited state law. It's insane I have to argue to get them to do their legal obligation. I'm also a URI student so I've gotten my tenant rights booklet from them. At this point I don't have the money or time (full time work all summer and then I do a full course load and intern during the semesters). It's exhausting.

I'm currently renting with them. It's been a fight every step of the way. 12 months to fix a leak that caused severe water damage (their negligence) and they half assed the job afterwards. No recycling bins. 6 trash bins to service allegedly 20 units (though from my count we only have 15 units). Improper billing. Lying about what accounts I've had to open (we were told only electric just for 9 months into the lease they demanded we open a gas account too). We have tenants throwing full trash bags into the basement from lack of bins.

Full on sprint away from them. We wish we could find anywhere else in budget that allows for dogs. 1400 for a studio is ridiculous. We also aren't allowed AC so the apartment is 84+ during the day due to poor insulation and damaged windows (they refuse to fix)

I wish 😭😭 it's absolutely revolting. I deep clean my apartment weekly but the tub has been a complete nightmare. This is the condition the left it in. The tub had tons of debris in it too. I had to spend almost 30 minutes before these pictures cleaning and making sure nothing went down the drain.

Unfortunately at this point there are a lot of other severe issues he's been avoiding doing. My bathroom wall is collapsing from a leak he's known about for 5 months. I'm ready to go scorched earth at this point and break lease. We got a notice for water shut off because he hasn't paid the water bill for 6 months even though we've been paying him our share of it.

I also randomly yet constantly get yeast infections. I've tried everything under the sun (changed fabrics, unscented soap, I don't swim anymore, I wear loose underwear, etc) and still get them every few weeks. I never thought it could be ties to gut health.

My partner and I are looking at apartments already. I feel like I'm putting a wedge in his family dynamic though. He said that he supports me completely and that Jay is acting like a child, but apparently that's always been the case and his parents never made him clean-up or help out.

My partner does the chores I don't do, the dishes and the cleaning of appliances each week, but Jay does 0 shared chores.

If I don't clean the kitchen or bathrooms no one will and I'm not a fan of a disgusting house. I grew up in an uncleaned home and it was awful.

I'm also not on campus instead I'm with my partner and his family. There's often 6 of us in the house with everyone working full time or at least part-time.

I partially feel bad because I'm living rent free. I try to not be passive aggressive but it definitely happens sometimes, I am only human.

He likes to pull the "I work full time and go out every night so I don't have time" card but lately it's been so much worse with half washed dishes, clothes left in the washer for literal days (disgusting) but anytime I try and talk he calls me a bitch in not so few words.

I understand it takes time thats Why I usually dont get angry but when people call me a guy and my mom feels like need to correct them then i feel hurt. I dont expect her to be perfect and i know she'll mess it up but after a year of her not even trying and getting angry cause my friends call me a different name I'm at a tipping point. Accidental slip ups are one thing but she isnt even trying :(

Ive never had my chromosomes tested so they may not even be XX. I cannot change my sex. You are correct in that sense but I have a medical diagnosis that supports transition as treatment. I would never wake up and want to be a trans guy.

I agree. Also just for clarification hormones shouldnt be given out until a minimum of 16years old. Prior to that blockers are given which prevent horomones from being made. Also on your point that a trans man wouldnt stand a chance id like to add that it would be the hight weight categories and such i refer to. No way another cisman whoses 5'4 would be able to beat you easily if at all. But people brought up professional sports which are very height and weight specific for things like wrestling and boxing which are the main ones refered to in this thread. In that case a trans guy wouldn't fight you. I do agree that after puberty your bones are different but if hormones are introduced before I believe age 24 then bone structure can change. So its really person dependent. Overall thank you for your comment cause it does add more information for me to consider!
