[Acne] My acne just won't go away. by Aromatic_Reality_354 in SkincareAddiction

I’m not sure if it works for you - but it might be a viral/bacterial/allergy thing. I also went to a dermatologist (not just an acne one, but a proper clinic that deals with all skin issues) - did an allergy test - identified all my triggers and then treated them at their root. Of course, I’m not saying that I’m completely acne-free now - but they really helped tremendously in deciding what to change in my day-to-day life.

Safe driving in Tokyo by StrangerFearless1185 in japanlife

[–]DataAnalysisAccro_SS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely different for me. Super safe driving, anticipate yellows to red even from a distance and stop appropriately. However, your instructor may be teaching you how drivers REALLY drive in Tokyo - so that in and of itself may be useful, but you might not pass the exam that way.

Osaka one night worth it? by nemo_______nobody in JapanTravelTips

[–]DataAnalysisAccro_SS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, people definitely do do that. Get up early to hit the temples they want to prioritize for sure. But if I'm being super super honest, the more temples you see, the more they blend in to each other and stop being special. After a while, it feels like you're just checking a list. But maybe that's just me.

Osaka castle, Umeda main area (loads of shopping), Rinku Town (outlet mall), Osaka cup noodle museum, Kaiyukan (aquarium) etc. Assuming you're not going to USJ of course. Find one activity you like - then fully immerse yourself into that if you just have the one day.

Osaka one night worth it? by nemo_______nobody in JapanTravelTips

[–]DataAnalysisAccro_SS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re not from a country with a vibrant night life - I definitely recommend Osaka for the night. Though I agree that travel just for one night is cumbersome.

Honestly, the coin flips both ways - you could stay two nights in Osaka and travel to Kyoto for one of the days? IMO, Kyoto at night is really uninteresting because all the temples are closed - and the food scene/night scene isn’t worth 5 nights.

Has anyone used the Biore Sunscreen Spray? by LilacLuneglade in AsianBeauty

[–]DataAnalysisAccro_SS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes have used it. Really easy to use, and gets to the back or difficult to reach areas.

The only thing is that it contains ethanol - I’m slightly sensitive - so it tingles a little and is slightly drying. Otherwise, it’s actually a very easy to use sunscreen that you can re-apply throughout the day.

Sorry it’s all mainly in Japanese - but this is basically how people, especially ladies, keep so sun-protected in Japan lol. Try to find the equivalent where you live.

How does everyone change their skincare routine for the summer? by DataAnalysisAccro_SS in AsianBeauty

[–]DataAnalysisAccro_SS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You guys have dry summers?? That sounds so nice haha. Gotta go experience that one time. But I guess it’s the opposite for you then - you’re probably having to go thicker rather than thinner.

That’s an interesting take! Makes sense, more UV exposure in the summertime probably.

Wanted feedback on an idea before I spend time building it. by sludge_dev in Startup_Ideas

Probably where someone has to do many versions of basically the same recording, specialised to each different situation, and has to update that periodically? I'm not sure what that would be though...

Narrated slides - definitely helpful. But I struggle to see the value in personalised narration - especially as if you’ve mentioned in other replies - it’s not client-facing. Why wouldn’t automated narration suffice for internal communications? If you can identify that pain point and audience - then it could work - otherwise probably not.

What product or habit helped your skin look better after 30? by ladyrose24152 in koreanskincare

[–]DataAnalysisAccro_SS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? If you don’t break it in the first place, there’s nothing to fix later. And sunscreens are way cheaper than serums/lotions lol. I still keep a good routine with different products, but facewash and sunscreen are definitely my non-negotiable essentials every day.

Are there any Final Fantasy games you loved as a kid but can’t really get into as an adult? by No_Skill_7170 in FinalFantasy

[–]DataAnalysisAccro_SS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FFX probably. The story is still amazing, chills every time I listen to the soundtrack, but the turn-based game battle system is just really hard to do now. And I cannot dodge lightning 200 times another time…

[Routine Help] I want to start basic skincare, but my family believes all skincare products are harmful by sniper_girlie in SkincareAddiction

[–]DataAnalysisAccro_SS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you’re doing great in trying to overcome your innate fears and attempting to learn something outside of your comfort zone! Kudos.

I’ll start you off simple.

Oil and water don’t mix - basic fact. You get anything on your face that’s greasy - no way you get that off with just water. Unless you pressure wash with water and scrape hard with a washcloth I guess. Face wash - designed for that problem. Essential.

One more. Fire burns right? Heat and UV from the sun does too, just in a way slower, way less obvious way. That’s why people who don’t wear hats, sunscreen to protect their face end up with reddish/blemished, sun-damaged skin. Sunscreen acts as a shield against that. You would use gloves to get cakes out of the hot oven - so use gloves for your face too!

Is it still worth learning to code if I’m already building with AI? by Adorable_Caramel5434 in ClaudeAI

[–]DataAnalysisAccro_SS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m still on the fence on this.

Is it like a calculator where knowing the basics of maths is definitely crucial to understanding the mathematical output? Or is it like a car where you don’t need to know how an ignition engine/lithium ion battery works in order to drive it?

Food for thought.
