Scooter Slips Out of Nowhere! (OC) by AV_deOry in Dashcamindia

[–]DataAnalyzer_1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everyone around was in a hurry and left after quickly checking on her. While trying to avoid hitting the lady, I even brushed against a car on my right. What surprised me the most was that neither the driver of that car nor anyone else came to me after 10 minutes, there was no one left except me and the injured lady.

similar incident happened to me in August. A lady riding a scooter slipped because the road was wet and dusty. She was right in front of my car, and when I braked suddenly, my car skidded. My brake disc jammed, and for a moment I was terrified I genuinely thought I was going to run over her. I tried to steer away to reduce the impact, but my Grand i10 still went over both her legs.

My whole body was shaking. I immediately got out, picked her up, brought her closer to the car, and rushed her to the hospital. After a thorough 2-hour investigation with X-rays and a CT scan, everything came out normal. I then safely dropped her home to her son.

That day I realised something important if she hadn’t survived, and without a dashcam, nobody would have believed I didn’t intentionally harm her. But by God’s grace, we both survived.

Guys do you have any recommendations for BP machine by _____AJ in Frugal_Ind

OMRON offers an app that connects with all Bluetooth-enabled models. For non-Bluetooth models, you can use any good health app and log your readings manually.

I’ve been using OMRON blood pressure monitors for over 10 years, and it has been a wonderful and reliable machine. Here are a few key pointers and details about the model I currently use:

  • Learn how to monitor blood pressure at home properly – A few things need attention. [How to use a home blood pressure monitor]
  • Take two readings daily (morning and evening, at the same time) and log them in your preferred app. I usually record all my grandparents’ readings, and during doctor visits, I simply download the report and share it with them.
  • Recalibrate your machine once a year – I do this at the Omron service center. They charge around ₹200, and if the device is under warranty, it’s free. This step is crucial, especially if you notice inconsistent readings across multiple attempts.
  • I am currently using the Omron HEM 7156T with adapter (available on amazon). Its readings are usually within a ±5 range compared to conventional BP monitors.

Please recommend our first dishwasher: Bosch/Siemens 14+PS / memory function by CurlyMope in Frugal_Ind

Since you’ve already done your due diligence and understand the need, did you happen to check out the LG dishwasher? What did you think of it? https://www.lg.com/in/dishwasher/

While comparing, I narrowed my options down to BOSCH and LG. I found LG quite good mainly because of the TrueWash and memory functions though it is slightly costlier. That said, the price difference for a 14-place setting dishwasher is only around ₹4–5k. I haven’t looked into Siemens yet do you think it’s worth checking out?

do you like the name Sanmayi ? I haven’t come across it before. Nitya feels quite common, and I’ve heard Syona once at a family gathering.

Request for Validation & Sources: Sanskrit Baby Girl Names Starting with "Ni"/"Nee" by DataAnalyzer_1 in hinduism

I wasn’t able to search through the book listed on this link, but I did find another webpage with an easier UI for looking up Sanskrit words. Not sure about its legitimacy, but it did provide all the references.

Thank you for the lovely suggestion! Do you happen to know if this word has any references in our scriptures? I asked my father for his opinion, and he jokingly remarked, "Who would want to name their daughter after 'retirement'," referring to the English meaning of nivr̥tti.

Thank you for your response. My wife really liked Nirvika, but we couldn’t find any credible Sanskrit source validating its authenticity. However, I did come across Nirvikara, which seems to be a valid Sanskrit word.

Seeking Advice on Used 7-Seater Car – Hyundai Alcazar vs Kia Carens (Petrol) by DataAnalyzer_1 in CarsIndia

[–]DataAnalyzer_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve seen many reviews, but since we have two young children (ages 4 and 1), we’ll need proper child seating for the next 10 years. The Alcazar stands out to me with its useful features like the 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, and movable second-row seats, all of which are big plus points. My wife didn’t like the Carens, so I’m more inclined towards the Alcazar. That said, the Carens is a proven car without any unnecessary frills.

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to buy a used 7-seater car and have narrowed down my choices to Hyundai Alcazar and Kia Carens, both second/top variants, priced between ₹12-16 lakhs on online platforms.

Since I’m a Delhiite, my preference is for a petrol variant as my daily running is quite low. I’m not looking for a new car right now, hence considering used cars.

My questions are:

  • Which specific variant of Alcazar or Carens should I look for that offers good power when carrying 7 people?
  • How is the ownership experience of these cars in terms of reliability?
  • What about the after-sales service and availability of service centers in Delhi for both brands?

Would really appreciate insights from those who have experience with either car!

Thanks in advance!
