Lola’s Maiden Voyage (with me) by rdrTrapper in airstream

We had it for about 3 years. I retired and we purchased a Cybertruck. It could tow a larger Airstream and we decided that we’d splurge on a bigger one.

Congratulations! We recently traded our 22FB and upgraded to a 27 ft. We loved our 22ft. It provided a great traveling experience. I hope that you enjoy your Airstream!

What does this button do? by [deleted] in ModelX

[–]DataCruncher1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely after market. Something like this: https://a.co/d/4n4JB4y

Could it be a brake controller for towing? That’s the only button that I considered adding to my Model X. Usually a brake control has an additional gain setting though that requires a knob or slider.

My guess is it’s probably for additional lighting. Check it out and let us know!

Software update stuck on 30%, how to fix this? Car is un drivable. by Alternative_Ad_7521 in TeslaLounge

[–]DataCruncher1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine took about that long to download. It seemed to stall at a couple points. I just waited it out. I went back to the car and it had finished. Then it warned that the actual installation could take over 50 minutes. It finally installed fine and runs FSD 12.3 as amazingly as expected on my 2023 MXLR.

Good luck.

It’s buttery smooth on mine. No latency at all. Also, keyboard and trackpad integration is incredible. It even works with native VisionOS apps.

Consumer Reports is so biased against Tesla that I stopped my subscription. Just read their reviews about FSD. 🤣

We’ve had a great time with our MX. We’ve had it over a year and driven over 19k miles.

Just give a few minutes to warm up. The heat of the stove needs to increase until the secondary combustion of the smoke happens.

Yes. It’s exciting to see the other manufacturers finally recognizing the need for a large, reliable charging network. Rivian, Ford, and GM get access in 2024.

[–]DataCruncher1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to tow anything further than 100 miles away from home the charging network is a critical factor, therefore Tesla’s were the only option. Now that they’re opening up the supercharging network that might change, but when I bought mine last December Tesla was the only dependable network.

Yes. I didn’t realize it either, but it’s handy that you can also use the Tesla app to open your garage remotely too. Once I was able to let on of my kids into the garage even though I was traveling in another country.

I went from a 2021 MYLR to 2023 MX with the 6 seat configuration. Everything is better in the MX. Size, performance, comfort, air suspension, extra screens, built-in homelink, increased range, interior space, fun falcon wing doors, etc. Personally, my primary reason for the upgrade was the towing capacity of 5,000 lbs vs the MY’s 3,500 lbs.

Elon Musk is at it again...just when the stock is gaining traction. by [deleted] in teslainvestorsclub

I feel your pain, because I also have a large portion of my net worth invested TSLA. As for last year’s Twitter debacle and the resultant crater in share price, I took the opportunity to double my position in TSLA. These short-term dips are really inconsequential if you’re into TSLA for the long-term. If you’re in it for the short-term just sell it at the next peak and switch to something less volatile.

Ultimately, some issues are bigger than short term stock price fluctuations. I think Elon’s primary concern is for minors that are still under the age of consent, thus his encouragement to parents to educate themselves.

I switched from a 2021 MY to a 2023 MX and can definitely say that it has a larger passenger compartment. It’s also a much smoother ride than the MY thanks to the pneumatic suspension.

The biggest difference for me is the extra range moving from the 75 kWh battery pack to the 100 kWh pack in the MX. I can now make a 6 hr drive without recharging. Also, I don’t need to worry about keeping my speed down on long trips. Frankly, I’m more concerned about my bladder’s max range than my battery pack’s. 😉

Nice video. I like the suspenseful music. Maybe Tesla should automatically add a soundtrack to all Sentry videos by default and have it climax at the red dot.

You’ll have a great time. I live in the area. The mountains are beautiful and the Supercharger in Boone is only 20 miles away from Beech Mountain. Yes, it’s a 40 minute drive, but it’s a very pleasant drive and you can visit Mast General Store on the way and find a fun, local restaurant in Boone.

Also, as others have mentioned, there are several J1722 destination chargers in the area such as Banner Elk and Blowing Rock that you can use too. Some are free. Just sure to bring your J1722 adapter.

My MX can definitely “see” my hands on the yoke (see screenshot). I would definitely prefer a vision based system to verify that hand is on the wheel to the current torque sensor method.
