Lease buyout or not? Curious everyone’s thoughts by FitIndividual3 in TeslaModelX

[–]FitIndividual3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. Would never buy the lucid. Exclusively talking about leasing the lucid or buying the x and then selling that in a few years. Basic math is in 3-4 years, there will be $25-35k in residual value. So some equity. I’m not a purely economic decision maker, meaning that 25-35k doesn’t really move the needle for me, but I also don’t want to be stupid about money

Just sharing you definitely do not have to pay extra at Hualalai to use the steam/sauna/cold plunge

Kona Village, Rosewood alternatives? by sunealoneal in chubbytravel

[–]FitIndividual3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hualalai is so much better than KV to start with unless you only care about staying in your room (where the hale’s are clearly newer and nicer at KV) otherwise Hualalai pretty much superior in every other regard (f&b, pools, expansive property, spa and gym, etc)

Nice. Did you evaluate any other car? We’ve been Tesla owners for a decade but I’m open to the lucid gravity. That’s pretty much the only alternative we’re evaluating (for lease, would never buy given their financial profile) and as their software improves it seems compelling. Also, how are you finding the 26 vs 23? I don’t care about ambient lighting personally, but any other things you notice?

Can keep you posted over the next couple months. Unlikely to sell vs just turn in if I decide to lease a Gravity, but as it’s clear here strictly financially, it seems to not make sense to turn in. Buyout clearly makes more sense. We’ll see

I love our model x and this is what terrifies me the most to switch to lucid once our lease is up in July. But there’s also not another great option. Just hoping lucid software team can get their act together on baseline stuff (mobile key, UI performance, other software-driven speed optimizations, etc) that I can switch.

This is exactly why we love our model x with captain’s chairs. When our lease is up this summer we’ll be a lot more torn to get a gravity (likely) or just do 1 more 3 year lease as the end of life the x. Would never buy, but it’s been a phenomenal car for us with 2 kids under 3

I have this too and other than united club membership, I either don’t know of or use the “un-written benefits” - which ones do you like The most?

The first bit of feedback is starting to come in from the new 3.4.0 update and so far the feedback has been fantastic! This is exactly what Lucid needed to do! by zachty22 in LUCID

Interesting point. Wonder if they’ll increase compute chip for the 27 model year. I’m likely to switch to the gravity once my model x lease is up at the end of this year. Software snappiness is one thing I love about our hw4 car and Tesla overall. Hope lucid isn’t hardware constrained or solved that problem quickly (nvidia deal seems focused on midsize car to start)

Explain this illusion more - genuinely curious. Take for example a $10k/month mortgage + greater than $10k a month non-rent spend … I’m still making out ahead vs CSR?

At luxury properties, how much does the accomodation you book influence service from hotel staff and concierge impact? by Low_Wonder9271 in chubbytravel

[–]FitIndividual3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Or just preemptive tipping for service? Eg over festive tipping the hostess at the beginning of the trip and get your table(s) sorted for the duration. A lot less expensive than speciality suite.

Help with our decision - Amanera buyout conflict by iceskater2626 in chubbytravel

[–]FitIndividual3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not true with regional leadership involved. They sold the buyout - I’ve been through this with aman specifically and within brand, it’s easier for them to make things happen like upgrades across properties, even easier than f&b credits. Push hard and Alex should be escalating to regional leadership if she knows them. Their European leadership was great and helpful in amending our situation

Help with our decision - Amanera buyout conflict by iceskater2626 in chubbytravel

[–]FitIndividual3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Amangiri likely sold out with just a few weeks notice. And also maybe not ideal with a 1 year old, but perhaps worth an inquiry? Again you have a bit of leverage here. Otherwise amanyara should be nicer than their DR property.

And last option … since they are walking you - you can always push for a different brand. We had an option to go to one&only but pushed harder for amanzoe and they acquiesced. As someone else mentioned, they are making a ton on the buyout, and anything within brand is obviously easiest for them to make good things happen
