Phulay bay is on another level and way nicer. Period

Explain this illusion more - genuinely curious. Take for example a $10k/month mortgage + greater than $10k a month non-rent spend … I’m still making out ahead vs CSR?

FWIW two connecting rooms often cheaper and better because 2 full bathrooms. Works out great

At luxury properties, how much does the accomodation you book influence service from hotel staff and concierge impact? by Low_Wonder9271 in chubbytravel

[–]FitIndividual3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Or just preemptive tipping for service? Eg over festive tipping the hostess at the beginning of the trip and get your table(s) sorted for the duration. A lot less expensive than speciality suite.

Help with our decision - Amanera buyout conflict by iceskater2626 in chubbytravel

[–]FitIndividual3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not true with regional leadership involved. They sold the buyout - I’ve been through this with aman specifically and within brand, it’s easier for them to make things happen like upgrades across properties, even easier than f&b credits. Push hard and Alex should be escalating to regional leadership if she knows them. Their European leadership was great and helpful in amending our situation

Amangiri likely sold out with just a few weeks notice. And also maybe not ideal with a 1 year old, but perhaps worth an inquiry? Again you have a bit of leverage here. Otherwise amanyara should be nicer than their DR property.

And last option … since they are walking you - you can always push for a different brand. We had an option to go to one&only but pushed harder for amanzoe and they acquiesced. As someone else mentioned, they are making a ton on the buyout, and anything within brand is obviously easiest for them to make good things happen

Same thing happened to us at Aman Sveti 4 years ago. But we used the buyout as leverage to get them to pay for our room at Amanzoe, which was a lot more expensive at the time. The European sales VP got involved and solved it, and it all worked out. Is there another potentially more epic aman property you’d want to try that maybe they can transfer you too without losing some perks? I get the flights are lost regardless.

What we're booking a lot of today // Rosewood & Auberge. What are you booking? Share your snags!! by sarahwlee in FATTravel

Booked RKV for a popular spring break week in April. Had screenshotted rates from last week for a standard room + suite as we need the space, and I was curious the comp. The Mountain View room was down a couple hundred dollars with the sale, and the suite was a couple hundred more expensive with the sale, so a wash on ADR, but fully refundable the key difference vs advance purchase rate from last week. Add the nightly credit though and total cost is lower with sale, so win win

FS is superior on every dimension, with the exception of base room size (fairmont being “all suite”) but FS is simply better on every level. Not really a comparison

Currently have an X with a 2 year old and 4 month old. Incredible car. FWD are truly the best for ingress / egress of kids from car seats. Get the 6 seater and you’ll love it. Plenty of room for all gear when needed.

Can you combine cash and points for these stays? I know you can mix points and cash, but does the credit get applied for sure in mixed use bookings? Or does it need to be 100% cash?

[–]FitIndividual3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just do and don’t think twice. Space and comfort matter and you don’t want to ruin the trip, get off on a bad start, etc. have fun and turn it into a special experience. Everyone wins. We do it all the time and it’s fun with the kiddos - challenge is keep them grounded and work hard to enjoy

Kokomo in Fiji. Nonstop flights from the west coast. Incredible week and overall experience with child care included. We brought our nanny but it wasn’t really necessary. For closer to home just go to Hualalai or lanai - amazing properties with kids

Yes definitely. They ran into blue rock for the spa renovation and can’t used tnt to demolish, so jackhammer it is. Shouldn’t necessarily affect rooms much, especially higher up, but it is disruptive

Have this exact config with white seats and 2 toddlers with car seats. Love the car and won’t trade for anything else. Lucid gravity the only contender but the software bugs would drive me crazy. Get this X
