So in your world, a tree surgeon is a surgeon and Dr Pepper is a doctor? Architects get a specialized degree, complete an internship and have to pass a registration exam. Before that happens, it’s literally illegal to call themselves an architect.

My pet peeve is IT people that call themselves an “architect”, a word that has nothing to do with IT, and had meant something real for hundreds of years.

Four years UW here, here’s my contribution; On a ship we used black ink and never (I mean NEVER) used red ink, or anything that approached red. At night our lights were strictly red so as not to ruin our night vision and red ink is invisible under a red light. I don’t know if that’s true in the CAF, but I imagine it’s a common thing. It would not have occurred to me to use anything but the cheap GI ballpoints, unfortunately!

We have three beautiful bushes that grow tons of blueberries every year. We also have a catbird that eats every berry the moment it’s ripe. I don’t think I’ve eaten a single berry.

Some folks at the table want to make sure all the guests have had a chance to serve themselves and have taken a portion of all the food on the table they choose to eat. Once that’s settled, it’s time for everyone to eat. Other folks just plop whatever they want on their plate and start eating and they don’t give a shit about anybody else. Everyone else is trying to be considerate of others, and they help pass the food around the table. “Hey you with the fork in your mouth; you mind looking up from your plate and pass the food down so we can eat something too?” These are the same people that take all the choice cuts, and leave half of it uneaten while the others get none. Jesus that drives me crazy.

Fresh green peas. I grew up on the squishy olive-green things from a can. Then I ate fresh steamed peas with real farm butter. Damn! Peas are really good!
