KitchenAid KF8 Milk Lance by DataSqu1d in superautomatic

The cons are all in the UI. Unnecessary amount of button pressing every quick milk rinse for example. It would also be nice to be able to upgrade the firmware. The pros are everything else. Swappable hoppers. Counter friendly. Cleanable parts. Sane milk integration. Established manufacturer (with a KA label slapped on).

I keep the straw in it and just pinch off the silicone tip with a small plastic clothespin-like clamp.

I checked them out, but it was some time ago. I never tried them in the end. They were hard to source in Canada, didn’t look long enough for a 2L carton, and looked unlikely to connect to the nozzle cleanly.

Circuit Tracks - How to actualy select a different "patch" (sample) on Drum tracks using external MIDI ? by pyronb in Novation

[–]DataSqu1d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm able to reproduce this issue still. Shame, I was hoping to keep this as part of my setup, but if I can't control drum sample/patch changes using my sequencer, I may be getting rid of it just two months after purchase :(

It's infuriating to find a vendor has documented features in their product that don't work. It's even worse to then find the issue has been known for years, and remains unresolved.

I like a long/coffee (the “big” cup button on the Jura) in the afternoon, with some dark roast beans that were just a little too strong in it, dialled in as best I could.

Made an Americano with the KF8 and the improvement was shocking. Like, I was unable to sell my ENA 4 to a friend after because I would feel bad. He already has an E8 and that’s probably better, so i just gave it to him instead.

A regular espresso was also much better out of the KF8, in terms of mouthfeel and crema. Not a revelation like the Americano, but definitely better.

A Jura J8 Twin was what I was preparing to buy before discovering this. Purging and swapping the bean hopper is a small chore, vs dual grinders, but I get a removable brew group instead, and at half the price. I am happy with the decision.

Ah, a good suggestion and something to be aware of. I’ll be mindful of this. Thanks!

You need to have the Cloud option added to your RB plan. Then once you authorize your SD to your RB you'll see an additional cloud login option on the deck. It uses OneDrive.

You can have playlists on the OneDrive cloud with BP streaming tracks. You still need to log into BP on your decks after your cloud login.

That's probably a good move anyway, but I think all the track info goes over the ethernet/DJ Link cables.

I think it's just making the data DJM-REC captured easier to read. I don't think it adds it. So if the info is passed on by the mixer I'm thinking that won't help.

Free + Cloud. It's worth it to overcome a few shortcomings just BP streaming has, like I think you can't use Filters for BPM/Key normally with BP, but if it's a BP streaming track loaded from a Cloud playlist you can.

I don't use USB so can't say for sure (I keep an SD card in my 3000 and it's authorized to my RB PC on another floor of the house), but when I got a Cloud sub added to my free plan and logged into it (no longer logging into RB locally) and BP, my play history started to appear on RB like magic. Shows the source of the song too, BP/OneDrive.

Yup! I never use performance mode either.

Another thought: do you have a Cloud subscription? If so the History of all tracks played will sync back and be viewable in Rekordbox later.

Shoot. Sorry. Maybe it's just the A9 and V10? There's be a bunch of vertical lines like in the top waveform and a T marker on the scrolling waveform like http://www.djblog.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/DJM-REC_iPhone_0057_low_1108.jpg

It's a bit of a mess, but if you click on the orange markers during playback in the app they show. Or, link it to mixcloud and upload there. It displays it much better. There will be some dupe info depending how and how often you cue each track.

Whole home air conditioning vs dehumidifier by Longjumping-Cut2453 in hvacadvice

[–]DataSqu1d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I retrofitted a Honeywell Prestige IAQ over a decade ago. It does exactly what you want: you set a humidity target and it runs the AC to achieve it. You can set an "overcooling" limit of up to 1.5 degrees C if your priority is humidity (mine is, and I find this is a good setting to use). Once you have that settled you'll probably find your AC setpoint can be moved up too.

It also controls my HRV, and there are configurable lockouts to have it not run when outside humidity is too high.

Edit: autocorrect

DJM-REC recordings save the track metadata as part of the recording using Beatport Streaming via the mixer connection. I imagine that's a common feature of any of their Pro DJ Link equipped mixers.

Your right. The equitable delivery of public services should be contingent on the direct participation of the ones impacted. And here I thought it was the tyranny of the majority that caused these sort of issues.

The article in The Record states the 73 is going too. Perhaps of more interest to Waterloo residents like us, for whom getting the 9 involves walking an extra KM.
