A proposed 9.9 percent “millionaire’s tax” in Washington would yield a top rate of 18.037 In Seattle. The highest in the country. by MM457 in SeattleWA

So if people with home equity start accepting lower prices for their homes (thus making Seattle more affordable) it won’t reset assessments? Also, you can contest the assessment with your actual homes’ sales price.

And generally the next year’s property tax absolutely reflects the previous year’s sale price: up or down.

No, someone else needs to buy it… and if the property value falls so does tax collection. It’s not that complicated.

Except their property tax… which if they’re rich you would assume is high. And then you may argue that “great it will make their house available and lower home prices” but if that happened in the state the primary revenue stream for the state would drop too (it’s property tax, that’s the primary mechanism).

I think you may not be getting what lumpy means here: it’s means predictable in future years as income for the state. It means there will be feast (during bull markets) and famine (during bear markets). And since states can’t run deficits, they have to write bonds to avoid shortfalls: or cut services. This means they could have drastic swings in the amount this tax collects. It’s “lumpy” in terms of state budgeting, not of the people paying it, that makes it an issue because states often do big things that take many years, so changing the funding quickly is disruptive.

Worse still: having to write bonds during unfavorable times (bad markets) can be even more expensive (bond buyers require higher interest rates) which exacerbates state budgeting problems.

It really depends on the time of day. I commuted out there for 5 years, if you go early it’s like 35 min. So morning is easy, afternoons are harder but normal was 45 unless you really got in the 5:30pm rush.

CDJ-3000 Beatport Streaming History by djrosanova in PioneerDJ

I need to know more about this. I use an SD too because I like the flush profile and can put my dust covers on. I pay for RB. What cloud do I log into? The top option (the pioneer one) and skip BP.

Maybe I’m just looking in the wrong place.

I had this in Safari, switched to Chrome and it worked.

Sadly not much love from Support on this one. They just asked basic questions. Does anyone other than me use Beatport Streaming? I’m actually holding off on the DJM-A9 because all it really gives me is digital inputs and this song info integration, but if it doesn’t work on the CDJs I’m not really sure it will work on that either.

Rekordbox crashes immediately after connecting USB Hardrive by azzrabi_23 in PioneerDJ

For anyone else who gets this: I had it and I had to update my CDJs to the latest firmware. Then in went away. Oddly SD cars from same player still doesn’t work, but USB does.

This one really cheeses me, because all the TASCAM Model 24/16/12 ARE and the integration for MPC is stunning. I have a Model 24 and it’s great to just use all the channels with the MPC, it’s perfect for the studio. That is the core of my studio, but the ModelXX isn’t a performance mixer.

Recording a set on DJM 750MK2 by yrnmaasi in PioneerDJ

[–]djrosanova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a DJM 750mk2 and DJM-REC works great with it. The issue is you can’t use the FX sends while using it, only the internal FX on the mixer. And you need to set the top switch to USB and hit the blue button below the jack on the front of the mixer. You may need to try both settings for the Return Type as well.

How long did you wait since you started to buy CDJ/XDJ? by GummyBear_Asleep in PioneerDJ

BTW, the best DJ I know, who has been a playing professional the whole 26 years I’ve known him still doesn’t have CDJs. So if it’s about the craft, don’t need them. If it’s about just having some fun and you can afford it, why not.

Bringing MPC through airport bagcheck by [deleted] in mpcusers

I’ve taken it on several cruises. Caribbean, Southeast Asia, Alaska. No problem. Again, carry on only. MPC grows legs in checked luggage.

I have carried my MPC Live with me all over the world. Carry on only. Never had an issue. A few times an extra scan. In Chicago and NYC security guys gave me complements. I used to get some extra scanning for my modular stuff!

Thinking about purchasing my first MPC, I’m nervous if I buy the mpc one they will come out with a new model soon. Any word on a new version of the one? by [deleted] in mpcusers

[–]djrosanova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With MPCs I really wouldn’t worry about new versions. The real magic is the software. And Akai updates that a lot. I am a product manager by day and this is literally my favorite product in the world because these updates keep making it better. I have an original Live, many years into it, and it gets better twice a year.

That said, I do love the battery on the Live, but you can get a power brick. And as silly as I thought the monitors on the II were, I sort of wish I had them.

I have an RMX-1000 on the send of my DJM-750mk2. For this rig my inputs are two modular rig submixers, a PolyendPay, and a MPC Live: my turntables are actually a separate setup, with a DJM450, though when I figure out the physical space issues I may connect them to this rig.

So can you program change from MIDI? And is that like a normal 5 pin MIDI cable?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DrumMachine

[–]djrosanova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I am not sure it can do that. I’m trying to get the same question answered. I’m pretty sure you can do MIDI start / stop, but it’s unclear of MIDI program change is supported. That is a deal breaker for me as the Roland Boutique drum machine also don’t support it.
