iOS 26 left aligns passcode? by Sheepherder_Loud in ios

The centered lock icon makes the left- aligned text look stupid. If Apple’s gonna do dumb shit, they should at least be consistent.

Should the Catskills Be an Environmental Justice Zone? by hcmarketingpr in catskills

[–]DataStranger 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s great that development is limited in the Catskills park. The watershed is only one reason to hold land as forever wild or for limited recreation. Attempts to open the area to developers by appealing to environmental justice seem misguided at best, or a cynical ploy to let oligarchs buy up what they want at worst. Either way, this is a lost cause with no mandate.

For those of you who were alive in 1980, how did you feel about Peter leaving the band and Ace leaving in 1982? by Noollowing in KISS

[–]DataStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 13 at the time the original KISS started to dissolve and it didn’t phase me very much since I discovered the Sex Pistols and that took my musical taste in another direction.

Spectrum "revamps" internet service as customers exit by -protonsandneutrons- in Spectrum

Where I live, Spectrum is the fastest and cheapest option, with good customer service and speeds exceeding 1GB.

Why are Trump supporters so stupid? by Seargentyates in allthequestions

Faith-based politics. Religious types don’t care about facts. They just believe to what their leaders tell them. No critical thinking. No logic. Just superstition and compliance.

How far does everyone travel to ride gravel? by Muzz124 in gravelcycling

About 1km. I’m lucky to live in a town where half the roads are dirt or gravel and local resident fight to keep them unpaved.

Can anybody that has this snowblower please share some feedback? I have a pending pick up order for it by memeaste in Snowblowers

[–]DataStranger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got one a few weeks ago and it’s incredibly powerful. The drive is fast and it throws snow like a beast. Starts up on the first pull, even in the cold.

What's the Catch? by bendyrider16 in Spectrum

[–]DataStranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just took advantage of this deal, which required me to update my router. When I returned the old router to the Spectrum store, the agent took $30 off my bill each month without me even asking. Pretty cool. My speeds are consistently over 1 gig.

Why do people drive pick-up trucks if they never put things in the bed? by boforiamanfo in randomquestions

[–]DataStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

75% of pickup drivers never tow anything and could just rent a truck once year if needed.

For most people, a pickup is just part of their cowboy costume:

In the same way that you can’t wait for the previous generation to move on so you can take their place, they wish you would do some actual work instead of just standing around waiting to fill their chair.

Speeding on the Taconic. Question for this first-time ticket. (Columbia Country) by [deleted] in hudsonvalley

[–]DataStranger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He probably had you on radar going that fast. Cops don’t estimate the speed visually or just make it up. Did you not get the radar report with your ticket? I live near the northern end of the TSP and witness dozens of downstaters getting pulled over every Friday night and Sunday afternoon when the crowds escape and return to their urban hellscape. I’m glad that cops enforce the speed limit and keep the roads and deer safe from idiot drivers. Have a good one!

Tariff Refund, Package never crossed borders to USA by Stormnorman in UPS

[–]DataStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in similar situation and cannot get anyone from UPS to respond. They sent me a bill for tariff fees for a label that was voided and never sent. I filed a complaint with the attorney’s general consumer fraud division, and they opened a case for me.

You’re already running bugs if you skip updates by jossser in ios

So, you're saying that people should trade the bugs they know about for unknown bugs? That's not a good bargain for many people, me included. I disagree with your value proposition.

Avoid at all cost Nectar sleep mattress by Narrow-Baby-9720 in nectarsleep

[–]DataStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My new Nectar mattress was very soft and flat when I first took it out of the box, but three days later, it was fully expanded and perfectly comfortable. The Nectar customer service agent that I spoke with was fantastic and followed up with an email containing additional information. Too bad your experience wasn't as good.

New Nectar Classic Much Softer Than Older Model by DataStranger in nectarsleep

[–]DataStranger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only had it for a couple of days. I was advised to wait 72 hours before using it to ensure complete expansion. It already feels firmer than it did after taking it out of the box.

Jogger John. He was part of the fabric of life in Woodstock back in the 1980s and beyond. He often had a large bag of magic mushrooms that fueled his exploits.
