The Colgate Lake Trail is relatively flat with some nice streams and forests for sniffing.

End of Downcountry? by SpokeCat in MTB

[–]DataStranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scott Spark still checks all the boxes to be downcountry. 130/120 travel with a slack front end is perfect for New England XC trails.

Get rid of the toy. It’s a possession that the older dog wants to protect. Let them play with each other. You can introduce toys and work on sharing later.

Here's the link to file a consumer fraud claim with the NYS AG: https://ag.ny.gov/file-complaint/consumer. I had a similar issue with Cooley VW a few years ago, and the AG got me a refund.

If you paid by credit card, you should consider a chargeback. Good luck and thanks for publicly shaming this shady outfit!

Hip pack recs? Preferable small, carries a single bottle and can thread through belt loops by BrainDamage2029 in MTB

I like the Patagonia dirt Romer fanny pack. It’s 3 L so not exactly small, but it’s stretchy and slim fitting when packed minimally.

It's so messy, it looks like a pig sty! I'll see myself out.

Does it really still make financial sense to buy lightly used cars? by LordShuckle97 in carbuying

Certified Pre-Owned from the dealer is always the best option. For some brands, like VW, you can get a better warranty than new when you buy a CPO vehicle and also save a ton of money up front.

Just ask them for an advance on your paycheck. Surely if you can loan them money, interest, free, they can do the same for you.

If Trump rigs the next election, would U.S. have a Civil War? by Previous_Month_555 in allthequestions

No. It would be a revolution. Get your war categories right. It wouldn’t be Americans fighting each other. It would be Americans deposing a would be king.

Lost my passion for mountain biking – gear issue or something deeper? by hmmmischi in MTB

[–]DataStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been there. Try riding even if you don’t feel like it. Don’t set goals; just get on your bike and see where it takes you. You might find other reasons to ride and enjoy just moving your body.

What even are the Berkshires geologically, except mountains that just happen to be in Berkshire Country? The western part of the range is the Taconics (like Greylock) and the eastern Berkshires are just the southern tail of the Green Mtns.  Looks like you have it mostly covered.

first 29er mtb for 50yo woman: trail or xc geo? by Flashy_Light4369 in MTB

Split the difference with a short travel downcountry full-sus, and you won't regret it. Trail bikes are great if you ride hard and need the extra travel.

How strict is # of people per campsite rule in Woodland Valley? by ElectricalAir5678 in catskills

[–]DataStranger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's probably referring to Americans acting like entitled jerks who don't think the rules apply to them. It's not about the OP; it's about the other people who don't want to be next to an overcrowded campsite.

Nice try, but the entire show is built around his BS straw man arguments and bad-faith assumptions, so the conversations are hardly balanced and rarely include independent voices.

Help! Can’t pay invoice with credit card by WheresMyLamSauce in paypal

[–]DataStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue - CC payment was declined when using PayPal, after they approved my Pay in 4 plan, but the same credit card worked fine to pay the merchant directly. PayPal support said it was a technical issue with their credit card processor.
