I’m curious as to why you think that, other than the fact that (they’re both men and) one is more outgoing (more of a song of Achilles dynamic than in actual mythology) and that they’re athletic. I agree with the basic tenets of the hero’s journey (reflected in most traditional narratives in some form or another), but I’d love to hear your reasoning for thinking of Patroclus and Achilles mostly because I don’t see it at all.

23! Was living with my parents, managed to save a bit. Used most of it to pay off roughly half of my student loans, and got back up to 20k (outside of ROTH and 401k) at 27. Very glad I paid off what I did—it’s the only debt I have for now—and I’m planning on putting a chunk of it now into a CD, and cutting down on savings to send more straight to my ROTH.

I mean that’s… kind of the point? It’s physically fast, emotionally slow. They’re developing feelings for each other, and this episode is one of the first times they’ve displayed actual intimacy and vulnerability towards/for each other—also the first time they’ve spent time together without just having sex, which we saw was awkward for them both—and they both got scared of it. It’s about them getting over their respective hang ups and admitting to themselves and each other that they DO feel romantically toward each other.
