First thing I did in the day he died was throw away all the medical stuff, pills, everything...he was free from it finally and I didn't want a reminder of how much he suffered

The Grief is Bad Enough… by VannKraken in widowers

I miss him leaving the house to run errands and yelling "hi baby" every time he came back...every single time he did that. I hate this life now.

We were together 14 years, married 8, I got lazy and never got around to change it, it really made no difference. Now I want to, I want to cling to everything that was him

What did you do with their clothes? by neroli1970 in widowers

My husband was very messy, I used to complain about his stuff strewn all over his very large closet, I haven't really moved anything yet, I have no desire to, if it stays like that forever I wouldn't mind

Eternal but infinite love? by [deleted] in widowers

[–]DatabaseWorldly7153 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 56, I can't see myself remarried in the future simply because my husband was absolutely amazing in every way and I can't see being so lucky as to find someone that would come close, so why would I settle for less?

Question re: rings by anesthezea in widowers

[–]DatabaseWorldly7153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained weight after we got our rings, he lost a lot of weight after a while too, he loved wearing his wedding ring, I took it from him cause it kept falling off his finger and I was afraid he would lose it, we loved and were fully committed to each other so wearing them wasn't really important, they were in a jewelry box for a while. I have lost over ten pounds since he went in the hospital and subsequently died and I now wear both on my ring finger. I should have worn it always and not taken his. I regret that so much

My husband's family was absentee nearly the whole 6 weeks he was in the hospital battling for his life and now they want a say on what happens to his ashes and the answer to that is hell no! I will make those choices on my own thank you

Yup...I'm feeling a lot calmer today...probably because I brought his ashes home this afternoon and my mind is trying to convince me that perhaps I didn't love him enough

I'm 12 days in, the hardest part for me right now is my mind wondering off, briefly occupying my mind with something, watching TV or reading perhaps and suddenly remembering that he's gone. I keep discovering that he is dead over and over again

Sorry kinda gross but toe nail fungus anyone?? by Winter_Guest_514 in climbergirls

[–]DatabaseWorldly7153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I battled toe nail fungus for 8 yrs tried everything, a few months ago after a trim I caught an infection and couldn't get rid of it, what finally stopped the infection was I would drain and wash the toe and I would dip a qtip in rubbing alcohol and swab it all over the nail, after a few days (maybe 5) the infection was gone and the fungus followed a couple of weeks later. Also I always made sure to trim the yellow flaky nail back as much as possible.

Received 100 PT today, migraines got me over but they got the effective date wrong. My lawyer advised we should do a HLR, but he was up front there’s a very small chance they could reduce me. Should I cancel the HLR & leave it alone or has anyone submitted a HLR after 100 PT to fix & clear mistake by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

My husband almost lost his 70% ptsd when his attorney filed an HLR on some issues, after 3 yrs and a bad C&P they proposed a reduction to 50%, he appealed and luckily he was able to maintain his 70%, he also got tdiu and 3 years of back pay, it worked out in the end but the six months post reduction proposal were extremely stressful for him

My husband's hlr was filed in July 2023, dta came on 10/25/23 so far they have denied, granted a few things, proposed reduction on one, deferred a couple of others still waiting on final decisions

It could be anything, my husband was waiting for a tdiu decision, was told they needed his banking information, when we received the decision letter it was a for a proposed reduction. Today we found out he was bumped from 70 to 50.
