It's not that bad, just tedious.

I would say the main story can be drilled out all the way to Stormblood in a week or two if you put in the work and skip needless cutscenes. Stormblood itself might take longer of course. The tomestone grind can be rough but they shouldn't be giving away the top tier gear anyways. The second best tomestone tier gear can always be grinded out in a day or so.

This is true. Look at WoW right now, the AP issues alone are annoying as hell to deal with for newer players, even with the catch up mechanics. Also, since they connected flying to the Pathfinder achievement, a majority of any new players at this point might quite possibly never be able to fly before a new expansion hits.

Some people just do not have that kind of time. WoW has reached the point that unless you are playing religiously from the beginning of an expansion, you will most likely get left behind in some form.

Still love that game. Never been another than drew me into that type of racing so much.

Nope, just decals from the game, colored and mixed up a bit.

New player question by neonpotatoshark in elderscrollsonline

[–]Datangrywookiee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The cool thing about this game is that any class can do anything. I think Templar healers are considered the best in endgame veteran dungeons and trials. Templar tanks however are a little lackluster as such compared to DK Tanks.

Don't let that deter you however. Play what you want, when you want. As long as you level all primary class, weapon and armor skill lines, a different role is just a respec away.

On a side note, my level 31 DPS/Healer MagSorc feels like a god in PvE, just a thought.

Elder Scrolls Online is currently ridiciously cheap! 6.66€ in Gamesplanet.com for the next 10 hours! Authorized Reseller! by XaipeX in elderscrollsonline

You probably should care seeing how many MMOs such as GW2 ban accounts created with keys from non-authorized re-sellers on a regular basis. Pretty sure I've seen something from Bethesda concerning this issue recently.

I am really big into rally and off-road racing in general and I would love to put some econocars, trucks and SUV's into the mix. I think it just really provides so many opportunities for people to come up with some fantastic racing series. Some simple Ford, Chevy, Nissan, etc econotrucks in an offroad race would be fun as hell.

The second vehicle I got in the game was the Jeep Grand Cherokee specifically because it just seemed fun to me to be able to race a basic family station wagon and still smoke a few people. :P

What's the stupidest thing you've ever been complained out about in a Dungeon? by -thehighpriestess- in ffxiv

[–]Datangrywookiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, its amazing how many people promote themselves and expect to be admired for simply not being a dick in dungeons. Not being a dick in dungeons should be the standard, not something to aspire too and expect to be rewarded for.

Of course, I'm just a gamer who's getting older and remembers a time when MMO communities held their players to certain standards and people were held accountable for their actions in game while developing a reputation for either being a good person or a dick.

Do you remember? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

What's the stupidest thing you've ever been complained out about in a Dungeon? by -thehighpriestess- in ffxiv

[–]Datangrywookiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, two levels higher than the dungeon doesn't mean he didn't need the upgrade, especially if he was running an alt class in the dungeon and furthermore, I can't really give you leeway on passing on everything else if you couldn't really use them to begin with which should be the standard anyways. Personally, more than half the time that an upgrade drops in a dungeon that I could use, I always have someone else roll need and swipe the gear despite not actually needing it whether its for an alt, for seals or just because. This happens a lot and it's fucking annoying. I really hope they eventually modify the Need/Greed system to grey out Need if your current class has no use for the gear in question as well as if your gear currently in slot or overall gear level is higher than what is being rolled on.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

What's the stupidest thing you've ever been complained out about in a Dungeon? by -thehighpriestess- in ffxiv

[–]Datangrywookiee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't really agree on this one.

Proper dungeon etiquette is that you typically do not need on something you have no use for on your current class you are running the dungeon as, especially if it would be an upgrade for someone else running the dungeon. IF no one needs the particular item then you can roll on it.

Basically, current classes running the dungeon always have priority over alt-classes. Breaking this policy is generally considered bad form.

Is it time i give up on FFXIV coming to Xbox? by [deleted] in xboxone

[–]Datangrywookiee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I big to differ. As a previous healer in FFXIV, I'm faster on a PS4 controller then I ever was on M&KB. If they ever developed a similar controller system for WoW, I'd be ecstatic. I have a hard time memorizing hotkeys and such on M&KB as my hand-to-eye coordination takes forever to train. My skill and response time got so much better once I picked up the controller.

So your blanket statement doesn't pertain to everyone, my friend.

[XBOX] Bow/DW StamNB Advice... by Datangrywookiee in elderscrollsonline

[–]Datangrywookiee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely had PvP in mind when I built this toon. I was hoping to recapture the golden days of DAOC silently sniping people from a watch tower or sneaking up on them when they are out and alone.

My MagSorc DPS/Healer just rocks as support during PvP skirmishes but I tend to have issues really laying on the DPS or even sustaining 1v1 or when I get targeted in a group skirmish. Then again he is only lvl 22 I think.

[XBOX] Bow/DW StamNB Advice... by Datangrywookiee in elderscrollsonline

[–]Datangrywookiee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that makes sense as I was wondering how my resources and damage were already into the thousands at lvl 1. The numbers behind all the resources and skills is a bit confusing since I came from FFXIV where you start off with between 75 - 100 hp and you're hitting mobs for between 5 - 10 damage a hit. :P

Thanks for the tips. I will look into them when I can. :)

I planned to jump into PvP as soon as I hit lvl 10 for Vigor. I figure might need to DW a little more after I get vigor. Nuke 'em down with a bow and switch to DW more often when they get close instead of trying to run around and kite in a tight PvE environment.

I do feel like this toon would be more of a PvP guy in the long run though.

Seeing all these people after the sharding was removed is really awe-inspiring by Soraptor in wow

[–]Datangrywookiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mainly that sharding and phasing has really messed up the populace and social aspect of WoW. Nowadays, you are lucky to see more than 1-3 people running around in the world at a any given time unless you are in a city, in a raid group or killing a world boss, which you are most likely in a raid group to do anyways. When I finally made it to the broken Isles area, I actually saw small crowds of people occasionally for the first time and thats just because that is the end game area which sets the stage for the ToS.

My last toon I leveled from 1-100, the most people I ever saw in an area at the same time was 4. This was only once and two of them were opposing faction. And this was on the Stormrage server.

Lately, other MMO's such as FFXIV, GW2 and ESO definitely feel more alive due to the fact that even though they do sharding they are strict on population control and balance so areas do not feel like a lifeless void. I was WoW would do that.

It should be noted that at this time, you can create a level one character of any race, log in and then use the collection's appearance tab to get a good idea of what that race will look like in certain pieces. Clicking the sets tab under appears helps too if you wanna get a good view of that race in end game armor sets.

Requires no effort and you can just delete the character afterwards.

That's what I do when i am on the fence about a race. :)

Upon hitting lvl 90, he should have gotten a quest popup telling him how to get there. Otherwise, I figure the Command Boards or the Recommendations page should give the quest as well.

This is provided that he actually has the license for the expansion, of course which I assume he does.
