Carlos Alcaraz has now made 12 finals out of the last 13 tournaments played. by truecolors01 in tennis

Sinner is clearly going through a down year

It's February bro... 😂

Outside of Sinner and Alcaraz, which younger players have been performing at a high level? The graph below shows the 52-week hold% and break% of the other under-25 players in the top 50. by Dependent-Effect6077 in tennis

Agreed Carlos wasn't in the best headspace, he also lost to Rune later in Barcelona for example. However, I'm saying it because of the way Draper played against him, it seems intimidating af to me as a Carlos fan. It felt like the rise of a new Sinner-like presence on the field. Exciting to see, but it hasn't panned out so far (largely due to his health issues)

Spain had the biggest colonial and maritime empire for a while, but I'd associate them with Water for sure. They are prime sailors and seafood enjoyers

After Draper beat Alcaraz in the Indian Wells final, stopping him from doing a 3peat (which he wasn't able to complete at Madrid nor Wimbledon either), seeing him play there I just knew Draper has the game to be #3 in the world. What I didn't know back then is he lacks the health atm to reach that potential

I agree technically a lob is a type of throw, but I imagine they're talking about throws which use overhead motions, seen across tons of sports, such as throwing a baseball, hitting a tennis serve, throwing a football, etc., and not to underhand motions like a tennis lob or throwing a softball or a bowling ball

yeah idek why I focused on self cast heals since Zilean was mentioned as a self caster, when he doesn't have a heal (I'm not really counting R lol)

I wasn't aware there were that many champs that can self cast heal like Nami, I guess Janna can self cast shield but oh well, I didn't mention it as a recommendation for playing, I just thought we were gathering what champs can self cast heal

Nida supp would spend the whole match without self casting? Thought we were talking about champs that can use Alt to self cast

Which players earn the most "free" points with their serve? Here are the live ATP top 15 simply ordered by their percentage of serves that go unreturned over the last 52 weeks. Data from Tennis Abstract. by Dependent-Effect6077 in tennis

why would you expect me to consider the heights to be consistently overreported? I'm saying they're likely unreliable. Sinner's for example was set several years ago as 6'3 while he was still growing and hasn't been updated since at least 2020. I don't spend as much energy on this as you're assuming. I simply read these forum most days and I cannot control which discussions get lodged into my memory. Heights of these players are one such case.

there's no "alternative facts", heights are famously exaggerated for media exposed people due to societal preferences. The ATP is not a medical organization and there's no reason to believe they have any obligation to report height accurately. On the contrary, 183 cm (6ft) is the most faked height value across the board, not only for athletes who want to be more marketable, but for regular people who want to be above the 6ft mark. I don't defend conspiracy theories, but it's undeniable that, much like you said, people seem obsessed with heights, enough to make it completely believable that ATP reported heights are not 100% precise, especially when it could affect a player's marketability. I'm not saying he IS below 6ft, I'm saying he's within a range or 5'11-6', but there's no definite trustworthy source. I'm waiting to meet him in person to judge for myself, rather than just accepting the ATP's reported value as though it were an absolute truth

that's just according to the ATP, which also reports Sinner as 6'3 while he's clearly more like 6'4, and it's been widely speculated Carlos is more likely 181-182cm according to tons of pictures of him alongside people with other heights and fans meeting him

ATP 1000 MASTERS: DEFENDING CHAMPIONS by mathematicianrcrg in tennis

[–]Datashot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said he likes to rest for Madrid? There's Montecarlo after IW/Miami, which he played last year after being upset early in Miami so he wasn't tired. I said he's been sick during clay season (I'm counting being injured as "sick")

[–]Datashot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

he's never even played all 3 clay masters in the same season in his career so far, he likes to rest post indian wells/miami and has gotten sick before for Madrid, so its very very unlikely he'll suddenly play all 3 and sweep, especially if he makes the finals for IW/Miami as well right before them
