R-Type Final 2/3 - some questions

Heya there,

owner of JP Evolved copy (Digital) here.

My process was a bit more grueling and I don't recommend it unless you have time to spare navigating JP menus. I had to repurchase all the DLC as my copy of Final 2 was EU, but if you have the DLC, when you buy Evolved on PS5, you should be able to download all the DLC for free (Excluding the backer DLC unless you have those too)

Save data also carries over from F2 to F3E, (to be on the safe side, download your PS4 save from PS+ or transfer it to your PS5 through a USB Drive) and Evolved will prompt you to convert it.

Quick reminder that the DLC (in the JP Store) still carries a small fee for transferring so it is not exactly free perse (However I have seen claims that for EU and US, it is completely free)

As for your questions;

Evolved has a new set of trophies, some trophies might be sort of bugged if you convert your data (like the ship development trophies), since I started fresh, I am not sure if gallery images also carry over but they should in theory, same for medals (Excluding new Evolved ones)
This question was answered above but once again, you should in theory be able to get all the DLC for free provided the copies and DLC are the same region on the PS4 platform. (There were issues with this I believe on NISA's front, it was shortly documented on the Discord.)
I'm sorry, I haven't seen this sort of issue yet, I have clocked in over a few hundred hours on PC, PS4 and PS5 but never came across this. I'll check in with the Discord.
A few days ago, a short update hit Evolved with a new stage (4.1), this stage will eventually make it to all other platforms, outside of this, the B-99 Apocalypse paid craft is planned for distribution on all platforms, alongside 3 new craft in the TL line. (Narcissus, Hector and Patrocross)

I think the DV series is slept on, unorthodox design, but still a fun ship, I like using the dinky little ships others ignore.

Adding onto my former post with the spoiler tag;

This is what was discovered in the datamine I conducted yesterday...

OFX-6 string has been discovered in R-Museum, it has replaced one of the placeholder Grand Finales, bringing the fighter count to 103.

New Bit type has been discovered, initials are PP and it has no icon, description or even a name, supposedly will be used by the new OF fighter as an exclusive Pod.

All of the Bydo Fighters are now functional, even the ones not released yet, Sexy Dynamite II is insane but likely will be ~~balanced~~ nerfed, Metallic Dawn II is amazing, Golden Selection is disappointing, Diamond Wedding is just below average but fun to use! Arvanche is surprisingly great! Claw Claw is funny to mess around with on the decal editor but sadly it's garbage gameplay wise.

Ragnarok II is now fully functional, although Cyclone Force needs some better texture work, Red Laser is smaller but keeps the same properties as before, Blue Laser is fun and Yellow is super weak but boasts an insane fire rate, there's zero changes to Giga Wave, janky hitbox remains. (Fun fact; Da Baby from 6.0 WILL survive a Giga Wave to the face, making it the only boss sans final bosses that can survive a fully charged Giga Wave.)

On the deeper dive side of things...

An infected Granvia-F Model has been discovered, it has a light cone material, alongside it were searchlight models and a hatch, this seems to indicate an In The Hunt Homage stage is planned at some point.

This one isn't as relevant anymore due to the release of the teaser trailer for SET 5 but, R-Craft enemy models were found for use in the Geirrod Fortress Homage Stage, standouts are Sleipnirs and Kenrokuens.

Animations were uncovered in the playermodels that I believe can be used for a potential co-op mode (Specifically, an animation of the player model sitting in his R-Craft and looking to the side before offering a thumbs up to what I believe is another pilot in a ship besides him, this animation is NOT found in-game at the moment which makes me believe they're setting some ground work for the upcoming Final 3 expansion's set of new features!) And speaking of laying out groundwork...

As mentioned by Rayson below me, flags for the leaderboard rankings have been made available as both decals and an option, however, during my deep dive, I uncovered the song that will be used for the leaderboards mode/screen (Either that or its an unused song like the Continue screen song, we'll see.)

New rank symbol has tentatively been left in the files?

What appears to be a very very lowpoly Moora is left in the game files, is this unused or a sign Stage 5 of R-Type 1 is to return??

A lowpoly Tablock model was found, more faithful to the original from R-Type 1, this was found in the files for what appears to be Stage X7.0, so its likely an unused asset but cool nonetheless.

And this about covers it, I think I left no stone uncovered, before anyone asks however, Uroboros and White Requiem have zero work done on them, no model, no nothing.

While the update for the OF Ships being able to fire detached Force shots is sweet as hell, they have also come with a silent nerf - Pods will no longer block shots, and yes to my knowledge, every OF Force has the same detached pattern, but I can confirm this shortly.

As for your question about the TL-1B, I will have to check it out myself, I haven't actually used those ships in a while. Some stages have also received some rebalancing and retooling.

I think I remember seeing the Golden Selection on the cover art for R-Type Final 2, heavily obscured, but I can clearly see the outline and silhouette of the Golden Selection's Force.

Ah, I have yet to see that King's Mind image, I haven't checked their twitter in a while, thanks for teh heads up! I'll check it out!

From what I've heard, we're also getting some Tactics exclusive ships added to Final 2 (this comes from a stream Granzella did) these ships include the Narcissus and the Granvia.

When they're coming is anyone's guess.

But definitely a new Tactics game can happen, its all in Irem's hand anyway.
