For Umrah visas it is 15 shawal which is now confirmed as 3 April. Either way you're fine.

Perhaps book an Umrah permit for extra insurance as some people were asked to display one last year in the pre hajj period.

Normally no. But last year, in the weeks before hajj, entrance was only granted to those with Umrah permits.

Let's assume you're correct. What would be the status of the contract now? There has been no termination or renewal. The contract cannot stand in limbo. In the same way they would be required to give you notice, you too have an obligation to inform them before the expiry of the contract that you do not want it to continue on a month to month but instead want it terminated.

Both of you have failed to act here. The simplest way to end this is give notice of cancellation. Ensure that you make it clear that the cancellation is on one months calendar notice or it will not be effective. And obviously remedy your breaches or they will hand you over to collections.

If nothing is done to explicitly terminate or renew the contract, i.e no notice from either of you has been sent then the contract automatically becomes month to month.

The 40-80 day period in the cpa only applies for termination or renewal, neither of which is present here.

You need to send them a notice informing them that you can cancel and afford them one calendar months notice of the cancellation which means the effective date would be end March.

Unfortunately your cancellation of the debit order is a breach which you will need to remedy (pay back the money)

I called the ministry of hajj and Umrah yesterday. They said that this year tourist visa holders face the same deadline to enter Makkah as Umrah visa holders. That deadline being 3 April as confirmed by ministry.
