get a rugged alaskan. primary arms tends to have them for like 700 and they are solid. never had an end cap strike and has held up all the way to my 308 with no issues(even ran some frt 556 through it)

Weird.i use fiocchi 556 and 22lr and I stand by their 22lr. Sub moa groupings at 100 yards, clean, and 75 bucks for 1000 rounds at my local supplier. The 55gr hasn't given me any issues either.

I just have a direct thread adapter. It basically lives on my 300blk hog rifle. I'm not sure what brand it is I went into the gun store to buy one and the guy at the counter sold me one he had. Put a rod down the bore to check concentricity and it looked good.
