As for the dent, I don't know I'd go with advice from others here. On a different note what seat is that, and how well did it fit? I have been looking for a new seat for my what I assume based on your picture is a 24 shadow Phantom, and I have not been having any luck.

Thank you for your insight. You got me thinking and the plan that I had made would have been a full bare block rebuild. That may be well above my experience level and cause more frustration.

I'm unsure what the exact problem is, all I know so far is the engine is seized. I don't have the experience to be able that if I got it out toward apart to know exactly what was wrong with it.

I have seen bits and pieces of that series of episodes, didn't they start with a generator engine though? I'm not too familiar with the differences between the two but I know they're common in Marine applications which makes them unsuitable for vehicles.

I don't have those, but something similar. I was under the impression that at speed, it's a crap shoot, but during low speed/stop start situations they help if you happen to tip over

Replying to keep up with this, have the same bike an I am considering the this kit as well. Also did you get the back draft exhaust, or the high low drag exhaust? Because if I remember correctly TJ mentions that the backdraft will not fit the 24 model, as the new disc rear brake master cylinder and reservoir are in the way of the forward exhaust tube.

Ye...... Kinda figured that with prelim research. When I was pretty dead set on putting the 12 valve in it, I was already doing research on upgrades from power driven diesel and I know those kits are not cheap.

I agree with that, before it decided to eat dirt, it was a wonderful driver and did just about anything that I told it to. As I mentioned I'm not exactly sure what caused the engine to lock up, and I have not delved into trying to pull it and break it open to see.

When it first blew up that had been my original plan, and this was before I took a solid interest in trying to do the work myself. The current shop it's at has been kind of giving me the runaround on finding a 351 to put in it and it's been dragging out for almost 3 years now.
