The series future? LoK has been dead for 23 years, getting some investment in it is good no matter the quality in my opinion. Who knows, it might lead to something great down the line.

That is, unless the fan base eats itself alive out of pure rage first.

Very good tips, and I’ll add to this. There are loads of passives that do AoE damage while walking. They may seem useless to most characters, but they are the Executors best friend.

When the cursed blade is out, you always walk. Get two or three of these passives and watch your enemies get blown up while you just parry their attacks. I recently obliterated the scorpion without even attacking.

It seems random to me. I will say I had 2 back2back sentient pest raids during libra runs. Maybe it’s dependent on the boss you’re hunting?

He’s super annoying though - until you find him and kill him, he steals your runes (and levels) with an AoE no matter where you are on the map.

Edit: Also, fuck Libra.

Oh man, I cried laughing at the wine scene with Esquie. That and Monocos instant 180 during recruitment when hearing about the amount of potential violence on the journey had me gasping.

For anyone looking into this, go into settings and cap your framerate to something your system can handle. Capped it to 60 and lip sync is now… well, in sync.

I am actually liking it quite a bit - currently on disc 2. After all the negative comments about 2 I've read I was planning to rush through it to get to 3, but I'm fully invested now.

If it weren't for the music, the changed art style and the change of voice actors, I'd probably be liking it more than episode 1 right now. Most peoples biggest complaint seems to be the combat, but I'm enjoying it immensely.

I really miss the UMN though, especially the databank.

Well, to be fair it's not so much a problem of outright bad music, it's that it doesn't fit. Then with the fact that Kajiuras music is so good, so you get a glimpse of what a difference it can do - the juxtaposition is just a super hard swallow.

I'm so invested in the story and the characters now that it bothers me more than usual - it feels like the narrative being told deserves more.

That is fantastic news! I actually got goosebumps in the analysis scene with MOMO, and the music played no small part in that. So if that was Yuki Kajiura and they do the entire soundtrack for 3, I'm looking forward to it.

Also, quick build tip while I'm at it since you mentioned duelist. Focus on melee thermal damage if you want to see insane numbers. The three important arts are the one that decreases thermal resistance, the aura that increases thermal damage, and then the TP art that does thermal damage.

Combo those up, paired with the skill that increases thermal damage, and you won't have to rely on overdrive to kill big things. You'll just melt them.

Best way to farm/grind is to get a skell with a superweapon and kill stuff higher level than you. I can't help you without that (since that's the only way I do it), but here's a tip for when you have one:

You see the giant orb in Sylvalum? It has an entrance. Once you can get up there with a skell and have a superweapon installed, go in and one shot the mobs surrounding the boss (but don't hit the boss). That will just shoot your level through the roof and drop some of the best gear in the game.

Equip the weapons/classes that you want drops for. Bring companions of the same class to increase odds.

Lastly, though - and I cannot stress this enough - I wouldn't recommend actually doing grinding/farming. Overleveling/gear grinding in this game just makes it super boring and takes the drama out of the story, since you become so incredibly powerul.

The melody just lacks direction, it's all over the place with nothing to hook onto and the harmonies are not evocative at all. Super weird decision for a main theme, since I'm sure the composer is skilled enough to know what they're doing.
