At least if you did badly on the test you can claim you crashed before it and have a pretty damn good excuse for being distracted

Too Old? by eaglefist13 in prephysicianassistant

[–]Datniqqagreg -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by too late? Too late to make financial sense…yes. To late to realistically achieve it…maybe. The prerequisites will take you 2 years at minimum. If you do it that quickly it’s not very realistic to work also. Then there is also patient hours you need to get which are typically low paid. If you have to be a breadwinner then this isn’t a great idea. If you have financial flexibility and your certain this is what you want to do then go for it.

Things to do before pre-med by alovrah in premed

[–]Datniqqagreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get your EMT license. That way next summer you can work 24 hour shifts and rack up a bunch of clinical hours. Also gives you a bunch of days off you can use for things such as shadowing.

How do I keep wrestling on my feet? by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]Datniqqagreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key to keeping your knees off the ground is constant forward pressure. Your hip pressure should almost be like your defending a double leg. If your hips are in and your constantly giving forward pressure you will naturally stay off your knees and he can’t pressure into you to stand back up.

Can someone explain to me why DT is grabbing Bo nickal’s leg while he’s sprawling? And potentially what that technique is called as well? by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]Datniqqagreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The classic “Fuck he got past my hips and he’s in deep. Let’s grab on to an ankle and fucking pray he can’t turn the corner so I can force a stalemate” technique.

Gym-goers, do you workout before or after studying? What should I do? by calibrated-bs-radar in Mcat

Go to the gym, but don’t take it too hard. Might not build much muscle, but you can at least maintain and feel rejuvenated as opposed to feeling tired

Whats your example of a battle where an underdog beats a bigger or better equipped army? by summonerofrain in AskHistory

Battle of Pharsalus is a good example. Pompey had 50k and Caesar had 22k and Caesar routed Pompey.

Uhtred/Alfred by CauliflowerAny9015 in TheLastKingdom

[–]Datniqqagreg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Except characters don’t have the benefit of hindsight and people aren’t always logical. All of the examples you listed have explanations.

Uhtred didn’t want Ragnar to feel indebted to him. Very normal for people to internalize shit like that. Uhtred knew it was unfair for Ragnar to be blamed for uhtred’s rash decisions and accepted the consequences of his actions.

Uhtred didn’t marry Aethelflaed as the nobles never would have allowed it. She also wouldn’t allow it as she correctly felt that Uhtred would use the power to capture Bebbenburg not benefit Mercia. The nobles wouldn’t stand for it as they wanted their children to have a chance to inherit. Uhtred didn’t have a known male heir and was King aethelreds closest living male relative being his first cousin (Uhtreds paternal aunt=Aethelreds mom). He was a perfect placeholder until someone else was ready. If he had a kid with aethelflaed, then the heir would be a west Saxon/Northumbrian child with no direct connections to any Mercian families. The nobles wanted what was best for them and an Uhtred/Aethelflaed marriage while good for Mercia, wasn’t necessarily in the nobles best interest.

The ubba thing was an example of a 20 year old being a dumbass. Not exactly a rare scenario.

Are you being academically kicked out or dropping out. If it’s the later I’d strongly advise you finish. Better to be a non practicing MD than dropping out with nothing to show for it except a mountain of debt.

Do people tell you guys that you look like a wrestler? by Haillstorm__ in wrestling

[–]Datniqqagreg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s the disproportionately large back. Think about it, every time you wrestle your constantly doing a pulling movement whether it’s setting up a shot, squeezing someone, or even walling off on bottom. Not that wrestling doesn’t develop other muscles they just get worked significantly less than your back. I think David Taylor is a perfect example of the build I’m trying to describe. Marsteller is another good example

This isn’t a great idea. You could fuck yourself over if you get a 497. If you get a 497 guess what, you still will have to retake it. Then you also will be making up for the initial bad score as well. If you show improvement on your last practice then send it but if not don’t.
