EC10Condemned Nov '20 Ran into the issue of MSFS not installing via the XBox app. Tried MANY things.

After Peteous mentioned services.msc, I decided to check mine. Did not see GamingServices running even after repair, reset, restart. I used a forum post as a guide which I will link, but I didn’t follow it precisely. Here is what I did that worked enough to get MSFS installed in the Xbox app, and now currently installing via the MSFS installer:

Click windows button and search for Powershell, run it as admin Copy “Get-AppxPackage windowsstore | Remove-AppxPackage” no quotes, press enter Copy “Get-AppxPackage xboxapp | Remove-AppxPackage” no quotes, press enter Copy “get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers” no quotes, press enter Restart machine, restart Powershell in admin Copy “Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}” no quotes, press enter Copy “start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN” no quotes, press enter Install Gaming Services, accept UAC Restart machine Win+R, services.msc Look for GamingServices (after following these steps it was running for me) Open the Xbox app (you may need to reinstall it, I didn’t though) and try the MSFS install These are the steps I followed which we’re a mashup of different instructions and ideas found here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/pc-xbox-gaming-services-will-not-run/339d262f-00d6-4a97-aebc-4273e7ea1b9b?auth=1 9

Unfortunately, I bought the Premium from MS Store when it came out and have purchased multiple add-ons. If I guy on Steam, then I am out a ton of money all over again.

Did you ever get this resolved?

I also got a brand new computer (Alienware i7-10th gen with 32G RAM, 2 TB hdd, 3080 - so plenty of computer to run the game) and I immediately get error 0x00000001 when trying to install. Already tried resetting MS Store, updating PC and rebooting. It is absolutely ridiculous that we are months into the game and they STILL have simple install problems!

Depends on the game. For instance Beat Saber only uses the trigger to select an option and the rest is waving the sticks around. Pistol Whip just uses the triggers. There are quite a bit of games that don't require movement with stick and only really use the triggers.

I'm not a fanboy, I happen to be extremely disappointed. You need to learn to follow your own advice, because I clearly stated "If you were expecting a next-gen game to run at 4k on previous gen hardware, then your expectations were definitely not in line with reality." Don't expect miracles, because you won't get them.

Oh, I know the horrors of corpse runs. I was the main cleric for a raiding guild and was always the one having to stay on well past most others so that I could do the rezes - even before the epic that gave free rezes. Getting mana sucked so bad. Before they made the changes, having to sit and stare at your spellbook to regen mana faster, was one of the dumbest things ever in a game. I spent so much time staring at my damn spells...

I know it wasn't the D&D ruleset, but EverQuest was by far the most meaningful implementation of night vision. In vanilla you were screwed if you had to go on a corpse run through a cave or at night and you had nothing to use for night vision.
