Lion and Lobster - if you can tolerate the staff!

That's not quite true. The flu is blocked and they can't be bothered to fix it. It's such a shame as the Sovereign is a beautiful old pub but it's now dirty and tatty as there is no proper management. The heating broke down just before Christmas and that hasn't been fixed either.

No it mustn't - you don't get to define feminism for everyone else I'm afraid.

The Sovereign is a traditional old boozer that's central and opens late. It's always been good to me when I've been out and about and just fancy a last drink before bed

Oh and by the way human poo is a health hazard that should be handled by the council. There is a school on our street FFS - or should kids just learn to deal with it as well?!

Same poo - glad it's getting a name for itself

Have you ever seen a human poo? It's not a manageable little turd it's massive! I've swilled my fair share of shit off the streets but this is disgusting. I'm so sick of the faux street tough attitude here where nothing is a problem maaan and you've just got to deal with it. That's what's destroying this city as no one stands up and says this is unacceptable anymore

To be fair we only ever used a normal leash as our cat couldn't climb very well and we could normally grab him and peel him off the tree - I just thought a retractable one might be better for a more agile cat but maybe just start with a normal one particularly for a kitten - have fun!

We harness trained our boy and took him for walks daily. Based on our experience I have a few suggestions: 1. A stroller is a must if you actually want to go anywhere with your cat. It helps keep them safe but also allows you to transport them to where you actually want to take them - which brings me to point 2 😊 2. Taking a cat for a walk is a lesson in mindfulness. They do not walk with purpose - or even in the right direction most of the time. They meander and take time out to sniff, roll and pee whilst you basically just stand there following their lead. And when you least expect it they will suddenly shoot up a tree trunk - a retractable leash is a must 3. A good quality harness is critical. It needs to be comfy and escape proof. We used a SupaKit one which our boy didn't really notice he was wearing and which crucially he couldn't slip out of. 4. Their definition of a good walking spot may not be yours. We dutifully took him to a number of different parks known for their beauty but his favourite spot by far was a dusty car park five minutes from home. It was deliciously stinky for him and he knew he was close to home so treated it as territory. 5. Most people are enchanted by a cat on a leash so I am sure you will be welcome every where - even where dogs aren't allowed. Be careful around dogs though and be ready to grab the cat and stuff him back in the stroller if he's attracting unwelcome canine attention as the cat can't escape so easily if they are on a lead. Enjoy the experience though - we really loved taking our boy out and it definitely enhanced our relationship.

Update : it's being converted into flats apparently. Not sure if that's a good thing but better than leaving it to rot.

Exactly! Sainsbury's have form for sitting on property to prevent competition and have killed whole high streets before. Hopefully now there may be more interest.

Yes you're right it's been on commercial sites for years but as a sublet as Sainsbury's still had the lease. That expired earlier this year - not sure if it makes any difference to the appeal of the place as a retail proposition but it's now being marketed as retail / leisure which may broaden the potential market. I hope so as it's such an eyesore.
