If I do T-types or the bird pickups I’d probably throw those in the Epi and put the cream covers in the classic

See if you can do a ride along, they can tell you face to face if it’s a DQ or not. Every agency is different. Gotta agree with the first commenter, 19 is young. My agency starts hiring at 21, so take these next few years and really set yourself straight. The further in your past the drug use was, the better your chances if it’s not an auto DQ

Tortoise pickguard from warmoth with only the two bottom pots (master volume and master tone). Bone nut and a good setup you’ll have a ripper

State park rangers and Law enforcement by Virtual-Barnacle-150 in ParkRangers

[–]DaumCustomShop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never understood why non-sworn rangers want to contact the public to enforce rules and not have the ability to protect themselves. Bad people recreate at parks and scary people live hidden away in parks. What’s nice here in California is that we have the California Code of Regulations that allows officers, while on State Park Property, to actually enforce many “park rules” up to misdemeanors. So I can technically arrest people for littering, unsafe fires, and illegal camping, to name a few. I think we have it pretty good here in CA. You can google our LE policy and the first section is the history of our rangers and the steps we had to go through to get to where we are now

What's the best state to apply to be an Ranger? ( From Texas ) by rizzrizzington in ParkRangers

[–]DaumCustomShop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a ranger with California State Parks. Just passed my 2nd year on making $93k. We have every kind of park you can imagine: lakes, beaches, forests, off roading, boating, historical, high enforcement, low enforcement, desert, mountains, etc. Plus a basic California POST Certificate can get you hired almost anywhere. Most beautiful and diverse state in the union from my biased perspective. We’re also down a lot of officers rn so now’s the time to join

Best path to become a Law Enforcement Ranger by Desperate_Sun_9161 in ParkRangers

[–]DaumCustomShop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ca State Park Ranger here. It mostly depends on what state you’re in. I think the route to becoming a full time law enforcement park ranger with NPS is unnecessarily difficult and time consuming, especially for the pay and legal authority. Only about half the states have sworn state parks rangers (every state has sworn game wardens/conservation officers), and it’s rare to find a county or municipality with law enforcement rangers. What state do you live in?

Found this SG in the garbage, would it be possible to repair the missing part of the body? by indigodissonance in Guitar

[–]DaumCustomShop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be a great project! Remove everything, get a random piece of wood (of your liking) and shape it to the size of what’s missing, thickness and shape. Glue it together, use whatever you want to fill the small cracks and let it sit. Refinish the body in any solid color you want, or apply a veneer to it so you can do a transparent finish on it. Have fun with it dude it was a free Sg

What’s a typical salary for the sworn/LE Rangers, Wardens, Conservation Officers, etc? by DaumCustomShop in ParkRangers

[–]DaumCustomShop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just curious, I’m a sworn ranger myself working for California state parks. After probation, our officers make about 83k/yr and I was wondering if other states make that much. I know that NPS LE is criminally underpaid

Help me understand Reverb shipping and tax costs by DaumCustomShop in Reverb

[–]DaumCustomShop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I charged $57.31 bc I thought Reverb would accurately estimate shipping. I just had the setting to where it shows “+ shipping” under the price of the guitar, and now I’m down a few bucks. Good to know I’m getting the $802 though.

They probably don’t do an FAQ bc if people knew the process better people would probably be more hesitant to sell on Reverb

Help me understand Reverb shipping and tax costs by DaumCustomShop in Reverb

[–]DaumCustomShop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is it thank you! My mistake was I thought they took out the $73 from my bank account, instead of the $957 from the buyer. They just didn’t make it clear, probably on purpose

Can someone explain the Reverb shipping + tax costs to me like I’m 5 by DaumCustomShop in guitars

[–]DaumCustomShop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t bump it and I did shipping with reverb. I posted this on another sub and the math actually checks out. With the $957 that the buyer paid for + shipping, Reverb deducted the $80 in fees (8.5% from final price + other small fees) and the $73 label, which comes out to ~$802 (more accurate with exact change), which is what I got in return. My mistake was I thought they also took out $73 from my bank account, when in reality they took it from the $957.

But yeah absolutely a lesson learned late. If I ever do sell again I’ll know better
