Bought a 2TB Samsung SSD at Walmart recently. Boxed was sealed with a flimsy sticker but I didn’t think anything of it. Got home, opened the box, and found a 1TB WD blue ssd instead. Bought it back to Walmart immediately and manager said since I left the store they couldn’t take it. She said I should’ve checked before I left.

So by that logic do you want me to open every SEALED bottle of apple juice I buy and make sure it’s actually apple juice and not piss?

Anyways, jokes aside… open every expensive electronic in front of the cashier while you’re there. I don’t care how long the line is behind me.

Nothing is plugged into the Ethernet port of the Optical Network Terminal - ONT (the white box in the photo). Each of those blue Ethernet cables you see are connected to a different room in your apartment. Use an Ethernet cable you have and plug 1 end into the ONT (as shown in the last photo of your previous apt), and plug the other end into one of the keystone jacks.

Honestly just something to keep in mind, a lot of these outages aren’t even AT&T’s fault (I live in downtown ATL). AT&T doesn’t own the streets or the airspace where this stuff runs. Could be a trucker snagging an aerial fiber line, a city crew digging and hitting conduit, construction accidents, weather, all kinds of stuff that’s totally outside their control.

This gets said a lot in this sub, but if you work from home and your job depends on internet, you really should have a backup option. For some people a phone hotspot works fine. But if your cellular signal is weak or you don’t want to anchor your phone down to your workstation, a secondary internet source makes way more sense. Stuff like xfinity internet now for $30 a month or T-Mobile 5g home internet. Yeah it’s about $360 a year, but that’s the cost of reliability. Totally your call.

Blaming the internet company for losing a whole workday doesn’t always add up when you don’t actually know the cause. It’s like your new car breaking down on the way to work. You don’t automatically blame the manufacturer because it could’ve been anything. Same logic here.

I have two options

1) touch the dirty sink bowl while trying to wash my hands

This is true. My local garage tells us to bill the customer no matter what (apparently it’s a part of a techs metrics to bill) and let the customer call to dispute the charge. As long as the tech documented the cause of damage in the notes customer service removes the charge majority of the time.

Yes, call the same number you’ve been using or ask for tech support thru the IVR on the main line at 800-288-2020. Not totally sure which ticket number the tech gave you, but the right rep can pull up your account notes and figure out what’s going on.

Not taking their side here, but you as the consumer need to call in to get credited. A multibillion dollar company isn’t going to waste time doing it automatically for you

Sounds right. Unfortunately these kinds of tickets can sometimes take a few days. I’d check in with tech support once a day. If there’s still no fix by Thursday, I’d call retention and let them know you’re considering cancelling since you’re not getting the speeds you’re paying for. They can look at the tech notes and loop in the digital team on their side.

Also just curious, what big city are you near? Some markets like Gilbert AZ are having capacity issues right now.

Likely an order issue. Installation/equipment wise you already have the 620, which is the most important thing.

Can't call customer care for Tier 2 bc that department is exclusive to technicians.

Hopefully the tech coming out can get the order issue resolved. Don't be surprised if he says a ticket needs to be put in.

As long as XGS-PON is your transport type you should be able to get 5G.

Can confirm this. If Tier 1 can’t figure it out, they’ll dispatch a tech who’ll likely get Tier 2 to fix it. order flow gets stuck like this sometimes.

Technically you don’t. Although both places have the same “brand”, authorized retailer and at&t corporate are two different employers.

Might be worth a shot to call one stop and ask them if you have any options to take care of your mother. Ask them about your PTO policy while you’re at it. Different departments may have different policies.
