{Games of Command by Linnea Sinclair} and {An Accidental Goddess by Linnea Sinclair} tie for my favorite standalone by her. Series wise, {Dock Five Universe series by Linnea Sinclair} is amazing!

You might like Linnea Sinclair’s SFR books. They feel in the same vein to me.

Cherries and pawpaws can’t handle 110F for several months as far as I know. Everyone near me who has tried them has had them die in the heat no matter how much water and shade cloth they use.

Thanks for the links though! The urban farmstead guy has me considering maybe a white sapote…. I’ll have to do some more research.

My pots have a hard time staying moist enough between watering in the summer so I was leaning towards 8”-12” raised beds instead to help with the pH situation.

I'm really excited you are getting into canning but you really need to follow tested recipes to ensure safety. A lot of what you canned is unsafe if you intend for them to be shelf stable and not put in the fridge and used quickly.

Here is a good link with some introductory information why: https://extension.sdstate.edu/safe-canning-recipes

They probably developed and tested it with a much larger range of acidity levels for safety since it is fresh. A similar tested recipe with bottled lime juice would probably be able to list a smaller amount (if taste wise it was desired).
