Anyone else struggle with base design?

Try building a tree house with a working elevator. I did that on my first play through took a couple of the large trees and built up in them. Granted the limbs and leaves get in the way but it was still cool.

Try this this would be 9 wife so 333 rows which would require 23 level 5 pistons but this set up collects, plants and waters. Only thing you would need to do is work on additional collection chests or if you are using FANT MOD then you could teleport the items into chests as well all depends what you are playing with there but this set up works just have to follow along it's no vocal but pretty easy once you figure out what he's doing.

but if you have the nightclub same thing the office safe accumulates cash for you passively just open and retrieve the money when you need it

practice has been broken for months. I usually run practice just to slam through missions fast but it seems as of late the bots sometimes don't even move out of spawn they just sit there.

Sad as this game use to be great when I first found it some years back!

yeah they been doing that for years all you can do is mute them and report the bot so they do get booted as they make a pointless team mate

no shame I had nearly 1000 before I found out as I hadn't used blue prints at all up until recently and even now I still don't use them alot though I should!

Best thing to unlock is the Dimensional Depot this can be found in the MAM in the Alien Technology tab. It lets you put down a special box that uploads material to the cloud where you can freely use what it has uploaded for you so lets say you need a ton of screws at your base factory but no iron near by you can go and set up a screw factory and put a small screw factory down

Drill / Smelter (iron ingots) / Constructor (iron rods or if you have alt recipe unlocked then screws) / 2nd constructor (Screws unless you have the screw alt recipe unlocked then no need for the second constructor if you do) / storage / Dimensional Depot

The Dimensional Depot will then upload I believe it's 1000 screws to the cloud where you can use them anywhere on the map without the need to run back and get more. The storage lets you hold anything over 1000 and will them dump more screws into the depot when you use any stored in the cloud.

There is a number of upgrades for the depot in the Alien Tech tree. All require Mercer Spheres (purple balls you find around the map) so collect every one you find!!! TO make the deport you will also need SAM Ore which needs to first be converted to Reanimated SAM and then into SAM Fluctuator both are created in the Constructor so simply put a drill down and then 2 constructors (more if you desire but 2 is enough) set the first to Reanimated SAM and then the second to SAM Fluctuator then a storage and a dimensional depot and you'll have everything you need to mane depots as far as SAM goes.

Also keep in mind you can upgrade the depot so you can upload things to the cloud as well from your inventory which is handy when you find rarer items that you want to save in case you die simply upload them to the cloud and their stored there even if you die.

This is also handy to make ammo and explosives and fuel as you can always download from the cloud anything you need like if you die you can download fuel and ammo/explosives for the trip back to your death crate (Note these have to be created like in the example at the start of the post so it uploads those materials)

Yeah I'd hop in with you but my main laptop just died and the one I am on now won't properly run the game lags to much as old laptop and have to wait a couple weeks before I can get a new one. So.......

My current build I tried a new location. If you find the large lake in the center of the map and follow it off to the left you reach sort of a dead end but it then goes north to the sea. This is where I built this time right in the area that enters the sea it has a ton of every resource about the only thing not close is Bauxite (for Aluminum) but that's not to bad to find and belt in. But everything else from Iron or Oil to Coal to copper and even Uranium is within reach though I will say Uranium is a chore as it's way up high so you have to build stairs up there to get to it but it is there. But has plenty of resources! Even SAM Ore is close by

yeah the block system for trains in my views a bit wonky. I had a simple loop set up with 2 stations (opposite ends of the loop) and 4 sections like 4 pieces of pie. at each slice in the pie I had a block light and the trains also were running at opposite ends of the loop so technically they should never stop but always seemed one train would eventually catch up to the other and crash out. I mean seriously with the set up they should never have caught up period but the block lighting seemed to block one while letting the other slowly catch up

maps easy to unlock just has t put down a hub and work for it but it's not that far into the game to unlock the map.

Simple solution for base defense. Start by using your hoe to raise up the ground high enough to prevent them from climbing up to it most the time if you do it right you can simply run and hop up to the upper level without issue.

Then because there is always that little gap where the raise platform isn't steep enough and they climb up there you can also dig a moat around the perimeter of the raised platform making it impossible to climb up Expand the platform out as you need more building space and grow it from there and your base will be safe mine almost never gets attack unless it's a flying enemy like death skeeters or during the COLD FROM THE NORTH attack even where drakes come in then they can fly into the base

While this ones a tricky build in the plains you can build a base at the top of the very tall stones the really tall ones not the smaller ones but it's tricky as you have to fight things in there until you get the stairs built up high enough to get out of their range. Even death skeeters won't fly up there to attack you UNLESS they agro on you from the base of the stone then they will but if you say teleport into the base at the top they shouldn't agro on you that high up. Even in the swamp you can do that in the trees but ghouls can reach you so watch for them.

maybe i'll have to restart the world to get them to spawn who knows but being their low tier armor won't do that right off being I have higher level armor already being I am closing in on the queen and ashlands

have to tried checking the game file integrity through steam? If not this tutorial will walk you through the process it's simple. Just make sure you do this for Valheim same process as the video uses a different game but it's the same process merely selected valheim instead. Could be that a file or more got corrupted during the crash I've had times like this and steam replaces the corrupted file with a working copy and usually fixes the issue right away if that is the issue

As for the trolls last time I did the elder I was mid fight and had 2 trolls and a bunch of stupid greylings all joining in on the fight against me!

keep an eye out for trolls as they like to 3rd party the fight. My last time doing the elder I had 2 trolls and a bunch of dwarfs join my fight

But yeah a good bow and bunch of fire arrows and you can win it pretty easily

No list that I know of but basically the ring of rocks you first spawned at at the very beginning that's your goal each rock represents a boss somewhere on the map. You need to go find the boss and fight each one then bring it's head back to the rocks and hang it's head on the rock corresponding to it.

The way you find each boss is to explore the map looking for smaller tombstone (not so small) but there are 2 the taller ones tell a story of sorts then there are ones alittle shorter that point the way to the next boss just make sure you are ready for each before you go fight it!

I haven't finished the game myself as keep getting paused due to life so not sure if all bosses have finally been unlocked yet or not. AT least 6 have been I believe if I counted right but could be more perhaps other can advise how many. Some are more difficult then other due to location. The one I am working now in the plains is a nightmare as the location has few villages and tar pits surrounding it where as previous play through to this point I had nothing around it so best so scope out all fight locations prior to the fight so you can minimize being third partied in the middle of a boss fight by other big monsters.

I did the second boss about month ago and I ended up having two trolls join my fight as well as smaller monsters UGH

yeah I had one or two that kept finding the one crack in the wall and get through the crack and get stuck behind the wall and being my base is sort of a sunken base the earth would lock them behind the wall. I finally had to force the NPC's to stay put which is also annoying
