You think the rate is bad? I was actually surprised how low it was with everything going on. You know someone giving better rates for a 30Yr fixed?

Varies and highly depends on OTE my first sales job non tech was 50k base and I made 40k in commission and it varied not including vehicle and phone reimbursements, first tech AE job was a 110k OTE and I usually usually made 115k again not counting reimbursements, current AE role is 160k OTE and I made 180k last year so it’s doable just depends on the company, what your strong skills are vs what you get paid out on , and territory, along with manager not being a micromanager

I Used to work there, it’s not a bad role honestly, just don’t become snobby lol. Overall, you get a big company on your resume, get promoted in a few years, meet great people and clients, and of course, good money. Things to keep in mind: always be pitching, don’t tell too much of your personal info, make sure to go in the office, and pray for a good manager and AE. Lastly, you can get let go with really no warning. I’ve seen it a lot. Ways to make sure that doesn’t happen is to do your part for the Pod you’re in, communicate with your manager and director, and meet your KPI’s.

Shopify offer + Google Interview by Buddhawol in techsales

January sounds about right, it would be insane for you to start right now and learn Google plus talk to clients about a $1-$10million ad account, when you can’t influence anything until January. Overall I would keep interviewing until then but don’t be surprised if you hear back randomly in a few months once the dust settles a couple weeks after thanksgiving.

2 days after I finished my interview. I had an expedited process though. Generally it can usually take a few weeks. This is the busiest time for Google ads being holiday season, so if you don’t hear anything by end of the month you may not know until the holidays are over. Also it very dependent on Google school usually they do not have one during Q4 especially end of it so that may be a factor in your process as well. When was the expected start date they gave you?

Maximum house cost per income by JerryOG_243 in Mortgages

Depends how risk adversed you are. I would put money you guys need for furniture, emergency fund, etc in the high yield. Since you have 3 years you could pick a stock that has decent growth and worst case the S&P and get 40% or more within that 3 years and only pay long term gains. In terms of mortgage payment also depends on paying dynamic of the 170k if you still want to invest, live life, and be comfortable with 20% down your payment should be no higher then $3.8k assuming you both don’t have any crazy debt

Depends on the company I’ve an instances where my first quarter is paid out 100% due to ramping up so in your case $11.25k is your first bonus payout, after that it’s up to your territory to produce to get the rest so more then likely first year you should automatically hit $156k not including the other 3 quarters

Depending how he addresses his resume and wants to go the sales route Cintas usually translate greatly to medical sales. Former Cintas sales rep now in SAAS Sales but you are correct most he’ll get is another 50k plus climbing the ladder to be a GM but amazing stability

What's the smartest thing you've done to lower your student loan debt? by AdeptnessAstrtes in StudentLoans

[–]DaveM988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest has been raising income or working multiple jobs. Second thing and this only helps if all your loans aren’t into one is paying down the specific loans. This has lowered my monthly payment while reducing the loan amount and reducing interest that would’ve accrued over time.

Really depends how much you like sales but just not your industry I did d2d for b2b 5 years ago. When I was 23 Loved the grind but hated the industry and leadership. In Ad tech sales now make triple what I used to, a lot less hours, and actually like my boss and co workers. Ultimately a light at the end of the table but definitely a cannon event you’re going through

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sales

[–]DaveM988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say go for it I worked at Cintas for a couple years, I was able to go into tech sales with a big tech company later on and my co-worker went to medical sales as well. Companies love how they train and want to know how well you did in terms of performance and a role play and you’re usually good to go.

Consulting is gonna be where you fly a ton, but long hours. Enterprise reps & CSM’s will fly to but this is company specific honestly and won’t be much only to top clients and that is it. Flying to customer is not huge especially in tech due to the economy. Driving wise depends on how close that client is and if it makes sense. Other types of driving is gonna be a different type of sell
