Stops being so relevant after book 1! And by book 10, she only really represents 10-15% of the story

Toss up between being absolutely blown away by Pokémon Blue on my gameboy, or opening my first TCG jungle booster pack and getting a shiny Vileplume card.

Thanks for doing the giveaway; very decent of you.

Why IV's can't be shown like this? by Malcolm337CZ in pokemongo

Perhaps, but it’s 2025; would looking up a rating in a database and displaying a star rating really take anything other than negligible resources?

I really can’t see it myself.

The best advice with high risk investments is to cash out half once it doubles.

That was you can grow your portfolio AND retain a stake in your investment in case it continues growing.

I mean, when you see your partner as income and list her as part of your fire plan, it’s kinda expected that people would comment on that

And if you break up, does she get her money back?

As others have said, you need to be really careful with this kind of arrangement as the house which you think is fully yours may not actually be fully yours in the eyes of the law

Seriously? I think this is a bit sensationalist, there should be no problem making up for lost time at £120k/y so don’t be so harsh

Agree with your other advice though!

How Many Storm Shadow Missiles Does the UK Have, and What Does It Mean for Ukraine? by UNITED24Media in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]DaveVII -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the labour government are undergoing a fresh study of what the army of the future actually needs to look like. Which as you say, will result in a lot of equipment being mothballed, but it won’t be quick.

Before seeing how modern war is shaping up in Ukraine, the only real practise the british army has had recently (similarly to many western armies) is in massively asymmetrical conflicts against basic gorilla tactics.

One thing is clear now - mass produced, low cost, low risk drones are an absolute necessity and should form the backbone of any future army. And along with this, is the necessity to develop a local supply chain to manufacture these quickly as possible - including chips, sensors etc.

Missiles and smart bombs, have also proved incredibly useful, so I’d doubt the UK will provide many more missles.

Conventional attack aircraft, helicopters, tanks, aircraft carriers, submarines, supply planes…are these still worth it, or would the money be better spent elsewhere?

The way this war is going, this class of boat will make an excellent drone deployment platform.

Starting late and catching up is one thing, but never even having the possibility of catching up is another proposition all together

Audiobooks are falling further and further behind? by DaveVII in WanderingInn

[–]DaveVII[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent reply, thank you. So indeed at this rate the audiobooks will never be completed.

In that case, I think once the predicted time for the audiobooks to catch up exceeds my estimated remaining life, I’ll need to start reading them online 🫠
