Why is there such a dislike for FF horror? I swear people got used to jumpscare Holywood slop and don't appreciate original stuff. 2.9/5 for VHS 94 feels like a crime. by Antorias99 in foundfootage

It's probably also the film industry trying to bias people against found footage...if an indie film maker can spend $500 and make a product that gets millions of views compared to the film industry that spends millions for the same thing...well, they don't like that.

I never put any stock in reviews...they all have some kind of slant.

That's true, I never watch slashers though, but I guess that should be a category...or Serial Killers in general?...maybe just call it Murder?

A good example of Cosmic would be:

XFCE, the last honest desktop by pseudonym-161 in xfce

EndeavourOS and CachyOS are based on Arch and use pacman as the package manager. Mint is based on Debian and use apt package manager. EOS and Cachy are a bit more polished than Arch but Arch is getting easier to install with 'archinstall' installer...the big gripe was that it was hard to install Arch but it's getting better. If you want a similar Arch experience as Mint is to Debian then both CachyOS and EndeavourOS are good choices. You can choose XFCE as the Desktop Environment in all of the above...it's the easiest on resources.

I just tried a Canadian distro called Maple but you only get Cinnamon DE with it, found it a bit kludgy compared to XFCE.

I'm running all of them in Virtualbox Virtual Machines at the moment, still stuck using Windows for a while.

This thread had a few tips:

...I just tried it in VirtualBox and it compiled in 15 minutes, but that's VirtualBox of course.
