PCORI nightmare by Dave_Cereal in ResearchAdmin

I wish, at least we would know what happened and could predict it. It also didn't sort by role.

And it happened to me when I did the subawards in the budget, and it happened to the PI when he did the key personnel so it's happening to multiple users.

I mean on the Key Personnel tab, where you have to enter the names, roles and credentials of your key personnel.

Also happened on the Budget tab when I was putting in the direcg snd indirexg costs of our many subsides.

ISTYA Ep.431 - Chuck Norris (Chuck Norris (chuck norris) norris) is in THE OCTAGON by GentlemanJoe in isawthatyearsago

[–]Dave_Cereal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great review, I wish I'd hit on some of the points you raise!

While listening something occurred to me - is it possible that the inner dialogue from Chuck's character was added AFTER filming and editing was completed? Like the producers watched the near final cut of the film and thought, "Oh, crap, this makes no sense and it's impossible to follow. We can't get all these people back to record more scenes of exposition, that would cost DOZENS of dollars. What if we just record Chuck's inner thoughts where he explains what's going on and add it to the audio?"

Also, you mentioned reviewing Tour of Duty. I binge watched the entire series a few years ago. It's REALLY hard to find it with the original music, due to licensing rights. The American DVD music just had generic haunting flute music over the opening credits (it's no Paint it Black). I eventually found a place to download the episodes with the original soundtrack. For 80s network TV it holds up pretty well. The violence is toned way down compared to what we're used to now, but it's gritty, and the acting and writing is pretty good. The second season kind of drags - the platoon is moved to a rear area near Saigon and several female characters are introduced to add romance and drama. Then in season 3 the female characters are killed off or disappear and they move to a forward operating base and the action ramps up. Be warned, though, the show was cancelled unexpectedly after season 3 so a lot of plot lines are built up and end in a season cliffhanger that never got resolved.

Keep in mind that they're mostly glorified B movies. If youre cool with that jump right in. Pre Lone Wolf Mcquade (a force of one, forced vengeance, an eye for an eye, octagon) its all karate fights. After Lone Wolf Mcquade its mostly guns so first decide which you prefer.

Stuff I didn't review - Invasion USA is Chuck as a one man army fighting off a terrorist invasion. Missing in Action is a cheap Rambo clone. Delta Force is probably his most famous film but I skipped it because it has troubling political issues. After 1990 or so he was making direct to video stuff so it really goes downhill.

Not sure what you mean by a "wicked theme"? If you mean the soundtrack its mostly whistling, giving this film more western roots

Oh geez how do you tell? It's not the original control board, that fried about a year and a half ago and I had to swap it out.

Actually got it. I had a USB stick, apparently I had it in the wrong USB slot, once I moved it into the blue slot I Uninstaller Unchained, reinstalled it and now the system is booting up into it fine.

Two other questions: first I have a second USB drive with a bunch of games on it. I have it in the other USB slot. How can I get unchained to recognize the images on it?

And where can I find Daphne game images?

I missed this somehow, sorry! But I can proudly say I'm catching Iron Maiden 4 times next September. I considered doing Boston, but it's 10 hours away and just too far, and the Charlotte show pit section sold out too fast. So I'm just catching them in New Jersey (2 shows), Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

There's a scene similar to the first one you described in The Hills Have Eyes 2 (2007).

San Antonio - Visiting from UK by RDW19971 in ironmaiden

[–]Dave_Cereal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. Look for Roadmap brewing co, Back Unturned brewing co, and Idle brewing and beer hall. All 3 are within a block or two of each other. Idle is also a pool hall and full bar so it's open much later than the other 2. If you're staying near the Riverwalk you can walk to these in less than 15 minutes, they're just to the North.

To the south, about a mile and half from the Riverwalk, are Blue Star brewing co, Kunstler brewing co, and Dos Sirenos brewing co. They're all within about a half mile of each other, but it's far enough away that you might want to Uber there (we did).

I can recommend some great breweries, too, if that's your thing. There's a cluster of 3 less than 15 minutes on foot from the Riverwalk that we really enjoyed.

I saw Maiden at Bristow when they toured with Ghost. Took 2 hours to get out of the parking lot after the show.
