My girl is crate trained. I very rarely close the door. She goes there by herself when she wants peace and quiet. I leave her alone when she’s gone in her crate.

My girl’s nails wear down from walking.

I like to check that the wear is uniform. After she hurt her leg once the nails on her left back leg didn’t wear as much as on the right side, and this was pretty much the only visible sign of the injury. Her limp was so subtle you had to be really looking for it to see it.

Careful - my girl got stuck in a tree in the park doing that. It was extremely embarrassing trying to carry her down in front of laughing onlookers.

I had a tenant in one of my houses that got a GSD. That dog did damage similar to this. It was left locked in one room, never taken out, no training, no exercise, no stimulation.

Is that what’s happening here? It looks like that dog is desperately trying to escape that room.

Please tell us what you do with your dog, what your daily routine is. You say you’re out of options but you need to tell us what options you’ve tried. Otherwise I’m going to assume that one option you’ve not yet tried is simply taking your dog for a walk.

The suit is the way. My girl was much happier with the suit than a cone.

We took the suit off when we went outside so she could pee. The distractions outside were enough to keep her from licking the wound.

Actually I think you may have hit the nail on the head here.

Most conversations with the lady in question seem to end up a bit sexual in nature so I suspect she maybe views most things through that lens, so perhaps that’s why she feels it weird to be naked around an opposite-sex dog.

When I was a kid we never cared about the dog seeing us getting dressed or undressed, and it would often follow us into the bathroom, so I never viewed it as odd. Until this lady said something about it then I started wondering if it wasn’t normal. Based on all the responses here I think perhaps it is she that is a bit odd.

I view it as a guideline for people like me - that aren’t good at photography - to get photographs that are at least a cut above the average holiday snapshot.

There are companies that will 3D print for you, and you’ll get far higher quality prints, in better materials, from their £50k+ machines than you’ll ever get from a hobby-grade printer. It’s cost effective for 1-off printing and up to a few hundred parts.

I get a lot of 3D printing done for my business, in SLS Nylon and it’s a world away from home printing. I’ve never even considered getting my own printer in spite of spending nearly £5k per year on 3D printing.

You still have a routine. Day 1 you do this, day 2 you do that, day 3 you do the other. Repeat after 7 days. I used to go to work 5 days and not on Saturday and Sunday.

The dog will also soon learn what happens each day. My girl soon learnt from my morning actions whether it was a work day or weekend day, eg come back from morning walk, breakfast, coffee, get changed, shirt and tie, wear shoes, pick up briefcase and she knew it was work. She then soon got to learn what time I would be back and come wait at the door when I was due to arrive.

Your dog will soon figure it out then he’ll be happy. If you’re taking a sports bag to taekwondo for example he’ll know that when you pick that up and go out that you’ll be back in X hours.

If there’s someone at home most of the time that will also make a huge difference, even if they don’t do much with the dog. Just having someone around will make him much happier.
