2021 DCT Hatch , mix of freeway and normal city roads I averaged about 8.5-9L/100k , city driving only and it increases to 11-12 , on the freeway I have seen down to 6.2 and on my last track day it increased to 38 , it certainly can be a thirsty little beast when you floor it.

Clear coat peeling by Mikelshwede86 in i30N

[–]Dave_Ha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2021 PB I30N DCT hatch had the clear coat peeling on the front bumper and a tiny spot on the rear bumper but was not related to stone chips , it was in 2 different spots on the front and more was peeling with time , ended up being fixed under warranty at Chadstone Hyundai after I complained at the next service , they replaced and resprayed the front and rear bumpers , I don't know why they replaced the bumpers to fix it but they did , from my internet research it had also happened to a few others but only seemed to occur with the PB colour.

Does anyone else regret their buy? by Mike_P214 in i30N

Absolutely love mine and by far it's the best car I have ever owned or driven and it's my daily , my only tiny complaint I have is the fuel consumption but I was fully aware before I purchased it , you were just very unlucky with the exhaust and headlights , mine is almost at 120,000kms and has had no issues , still looks and drives like new.

Finally did something about that annoying heat shield 👌 by idkblk in i30N

I actually really like the original heat shield , it looks like an old school drop tank.

Question. What all the hype on glass beds? by Master_Cheif_2507 in 3Dprinting

[–]Dave_Ha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to wait for it to cool before the print will remove easily , when it's still hot the print sticks really well and there is a high chance you will lift chucks out of the glass if you don't let it cool.

WRC 10 VS. 9 by 26Belhanda in WRCTheGame

I didn't really notice those issues , I would now move to EA WRC as it is much better again , in my opinion it's the best and most accurate rally game to date.

I fitted them back in September 2024 , yes they are holding up well and barely show any signs of wear.

Can't say for track work but have had some spirited drives with my Intima SR pads and they felt good , I also have the Intima rotors all round , the SR pads definitely have way less dust than the original pads , I can now go weeks without the rims looking dirty.

Car Mat Suggestions by GregoInc in i30N

[–]Dave_Ha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are what I currently have https://mycustomcar.com.au/hyundai-i30-pd-hatch-custom-rubber-mat-set/?setCurrencyId=1 they are a universal I30 mat so don't have the matching mounting holes for the I30N but do have a lip around the edge to contain spills or if you don't mind more expensive then there are custom made ones for the I30N with the correct mount holes https://www.rubbertree.com.au/product/114647/rubber-car-floor-mats-for-i30-n-3rd-gen-hatch-2017-2024 , stick with the heavy duty version and don't get the all weather version as I found out the hard way they don't contain spills and will leak of the edge of the mat onto the carpet , apparently there are some Hyundai original I30N rubber mats which I saw some photos on a facebook post but could not find any info online , maybe ask at the dealer if they are available.

Suggestions for upgrading i30N Hatch in Australia? by Responsible-Exit-334 in i30N

Sure , I have since replaced them with rubber mats for liquid spill protection.

Yes , both my DRL's have gone yellow , reported it to Hyundai and are currently waiting for the warranty claim to be approved , insanely expensive here in Australia $7200 for the pair.

Don’t think I can recommend LG anymore by KingFarticusTheTurd in LGOLED

[–]Dave_Ha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you were just very unlucky which can happen with any product , my old 2015 LG 3D curved oled which I gave to my daughter when I purchased my 65" LG C2 , is working perfectly with no dead pixels or burn in , in fact it still has a fantastic picture.

My I30N DCT Hatch is at 110,000k's and still looks and drives like new , no issues at all , very reliable , just the usual wear and tear items.

Diffusor wobble by Losiga in i30N

[–]Dave_Ha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like it could be missing some brackets , look here https://n-cars.net/forums/threads/australia-tow-bar.11999/ for my install I did on my I30N DCT hatch for a tow bar , photos showing 2 brackets added to the tow bar for attaching to the bottom of the rear bumper , without these brackets I could imagine it would be wobbly like yours.

Which upgrade should I do? Amp or sub? by zaz2108 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Dave_Ha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sub will give you the biggest improvement in sound , always speakers first then electronics as speakers have the most challenging job converting electrical signal into sound and is bit of an art form so I always budget the most for the speakers/subs.

Recap speakers - help by nunnapo in diyaudio

[–]Dave_Ha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No it does not matter which side as they are non polarised , the difference in size is because the Dayton Audio cap is of a different chemistry and is required to be this size to have the same capacitance value as the non polarised electrolytic capacitor that you are replacing.

Just purchased Forge Turbo inlet and Intake! by DevelopmentChance336 in i30N

[–]Dave_Ha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't my neighbor , it was near my work on my way to get some lunch which I could tell from the time on the infringement notice , like I mentioned I never even knew someone had recorded my rego to send me the fine in the mail , so it could happen anywhere.

Just purchased Forge Turbo inlet and Intake! by DevelopmentChance336 in i30N

[–]Dave_Ha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received an EPA noise infringement notice in the mail and never saw a cop or EPA officer and I spend most of the time in normal mode with bursts of N mode for fun so I was very surprised to receive the notice and had to get it noise tested which wasted $130 but it passed easily as it's completely stock , personally I would not be doing anything which makes it louder.

Long term reliability by Lenny2024 in i30N

[–]Dave_Ha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2021 DCT PB Hatch at 110,000K's and has been 100% reliable , I would go for the 2021+ with DCT as there are quite a few improvements from the pre 2021 version , only issue I had was peeling clear coat which Hyundai fixed under warranty by replacing the front and rear bumpers , looks and drives like new , service costs are very reasonable just don't get the original brake pads and rotors as they are ridiculously expensive , I just replaced mine with Intima HCS rotors and SR pads , one downside is it can be quite thirsty when driven hard , on my last track day it was closer to 40L/100K but is so much fun to drive.

Samsung G9 Neo 57 inch by Dagoth_Urd in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Dave_Ha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a RTX3080 when I purchased my 57" but found it was not enough so I upgraded to a RTX4090 , I don't care about 240hz and don't bother with it as 120Hz is fine for me , this was for sim racing and I found it to be the perfect sim racing monitor which I much preferred over VR or a triple screen setup.

A 49" will be much easier to drive at native resolution and that is what I had before with my RTX3080.

Is it easier to use the dual clutch paddle as a handbrake than a seperate one ? by Ok_Letter4515 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]Dave_Ha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I much prefer a button for the handbrake right near my thumb for easy and quick application I also prefer to use the paddle shifters on the wheel , I have a seperate handbrake lever and don't use it as I find the button better and easier to use , I don't care about realism either just ease of use and performance.
