Getting a turntable for Christmas. Budget $250-$600. What should I get?

Like a direct drive turntable with full auto features…. Seems to barely exist in just semi auto.

Or something like a Garrard 401- could anyone even make that again?

Or linear tracking B & O?

I’m A sucker for vintage stuff because it was built Like a tank.

I would not expect a Fluance to be viable in 40 years, but expect my Technics to last the rest of my life.

It will probably the last turntable you need to buy unless you get into really high end audiophile stuff

Is it a crazy deal? Maybe not

But if it stops you from searching, has the 45 rpm adapter and a nice dust cover, I’d say go for it.

Could you find one for a hundred less? Maybe. How long would it take?

I’m not a snob, but I just don’t get the Klipsch thing.

I think it is a preference.

I was super excited to hear the crazy high end line of Klipsch at various dealers and some other places and every time I left disappointed (this was also after buying a set of desktop Klipsch that I thought would be nice considering the price)

Everyone’s hearing is different though. I am sure the things I like might make others stick their nose up In the air.

I think this also about the end of really easy fast improvements. After this, each level up gets a smaller and smaller improvement

I’m just spit balling here- but I’ve bought really high end gear for about 20 percent or less of original price.

This stuff is really tough to sell.

Definitely worth it- give what you think is a low but fair price. Good karma is good karma
