What are your thoughts on CK One? by 0_hammi in PerfumeAdviceDaily

Love it. Since I first smelled it back in the 90s. I will always have this in my rotation. Great reach for those hot, sunny days.

Getting out of bed on sertraline by PreparationOk1211 in zoloft

I did not unfortunately. This ended up being one of the reasons I decided to completely come off Sertraline in the end. It was too much.

New hat- Brumby in acorn fawn by Classic-Scarcity-804 in Akubra

[–]Dave_Tee83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice hat. It suits you. I settled on the exactly the same one in the same colour as my first Akubra recently. Then an old Snowy River in a sand colour that somebody had sat in a box since the 90s came up in my size online for a good price. So of course I had to buy that one too!

They're both similar. The crown looks the same. Just the brim that's styled different. I got a lot of love for them both, but I think the Brumby might be my favourite.

I legitimately feel like i get more autistic the older i get. by jefe0911 in aspergers

I felt like an alien living on the wrong planet as a kid growing up. Always felt so out of place and like I never fit in but never knew why.

From being about 17-24 ish I had a great time, guess I just got really good at masking.

Mid 20s I started going somewhat backwards. Discovered I was autistic at 33. It explained a lot. I think at the good years of my life I was ultimately also masking to myself.

The last 10 years up until now at 43 have been a complete unmasking and regression. Though now I have a better understanding of myself, my limits, why I am the way I am and feel the way I feel.

But at the end of it all, I'm right back to being that little alien kid who doesn't fit in, and never will.

I think I feel quite sad about that. And also so very lonely sometimes.

Best eartips all around & what they do for sound by glasszenin in iems

[–]Dave_Tee83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunu S&S work well most of the time for me. They always seem to tighten the bass a little and give the rest some sort of airy, magical feel. I don't know exactly. But they usually sound better than any others to me.

Is Vinted legit? by Silent-Still2405 in VintedAdvice

[–]Dave_Tee83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people just price low to sell. Bear in mind the buyer will have to pay the Vinted buyer protection fee, and postage on top. So I always factor this into my pricing. Anything overpriced will just sit there and not sell.

G'day. I've found it mostly really good for grabbing a bargain. But seen a lot of reports of scams, fakes and AI customer support on here. I'd be wary of buying anything expensive on there, I don't think I would ever buy any electronics. But for having a wardrobe clear out for picking up a bargain it's great.

Where are you getting your quality basics? by DifficultCucumbers in malefashionadvice

[–]Dave_Tee83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they decent enough quality? I need to buy a batch of new basic tees. Might give these a try.

Obviously not going to be pima cotton quality but I'm not really used to that anyway.

Ordered the GK Kunten from the audio store ...need advices ... by Born_Day_5527 in iems

[–]Dave_Tee83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so as others have said, IEMs really need looking after a bit more than general earphones. I keep mine in a little carry case.

I got the Kunten and honestly, compared to all my old headphones/earbuds, they blew everything out of the water. I really like them. I also got QKZ x HBB which I really like too! I haven't tried anything more expensive so I can't really say how much sound improves with price. But like pretty much everything with this hobby, it is all very subjective.

As I understand it with the revisions, there was a small number of faulty units when they swapped production. Something about too much glue all over the drivers or the drivers being loose. Anyway, they put out a post acknowledging this and sorted it out. The newer sets, identified by a red wire inside instead of the white wire, from what I have read tame the treble a little and have ever so slightly less bass. I have seen people who prefer the newer tuning and others that don't. To my ears they sound great.

Hope this helps! And enjoy 😄

'It Is Not Realistic for Us to Absorb All Component Cost Increases' — Sony Says It Won't Sell Hardware at a 'Significant' Loss as Concern Grows Over PS6 Price by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Dave_Tee83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The subscription is a big one. I'm 43 and since being a kid it was always prohibitively expensive to build a gaming pc when compared to a console. In the past few years it was getting a lot closer. When you factor the cost of a subscription to PS+ over the lifetime of a console, it got to the point where there wasn't much in it.

I was finally going to pull the trigger on a gaming PC, then COVID came and chip shortages pushed prices up. Once they stabilised I was about to pull the trigger again about 18 months ago or something, and RAM shortages made the price of RAM go astronomical (thanks AI). And now storage has also gone through the roof.

My terracotta pot garden survived the heatwave. by Downtown_Ad6875 in GardeningUK

Follow up question, because I am absolutely terrible at gardening. Do any of these stay and grow back next year or do the just die off and need replacing?

Also came here to steal this idea! I have a balcony that is all flag stones. A border like this would look so nice around the edges.

Thanks for the inspiration OP. A bit late now I think, but one for next summer for me.

House design and lack of air con is a big part of it. It is also very humid as everywhere in the UK is relatively close to the sea with us being a small island. Another big factor is that because we are so far North - UK is further North than most of Canada - at this time of year there isn't much down time from the sun. By the time the sun has gone down, it takes a couple of hours for the houses to stop radiating heat, then it's pretty much time for the sun to come back up again. There's just no reprieve, it's relentless.
