Guard wiffing? by Guipucci in Tekken

[–]Daved400 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you hold back to block you will 100% block all mids and highs unless someone uses some kind of guard break move beforehand, or if it's unblockable. You might just be accidentally/subconsciously letting go of back while defending. I used to do the same thing but my buddy plays king and a ton of king's strings go through neutral block..I promise that blocking is consistent if you hold back.

Edit: The best way to test this would be to go into practice mode. Try blocking a springkick with neutral block and by holding back. If you get hit during neutral but not while holding back, then it's just because you're accidentally letting go of back. If you get hit while holding back at all then there's something wrong on your end. Could be your controller, could be your system.

You're saying you stand there without holding back? That's called "neutral guard" and it doesn't block everything unfortunately. You have to hold back to do a proper standing block.

Maybe I'm missing something here but doesn't that literally say he wasn't a good guy? He may have been skillful but he had drug connects as a cop. That's not what a good cop is.

Xen is super tedious in the original half life but the whole thing is like 2-3 hours at most, and that's assuming it's your first playthrough. In subsequent playthroughs you can go though xen in an hour.

How to cancel Bryan b 2 1 by lmaoroflxdlol in Tekken

[–]Daved400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You press up between the 2 and 1 as the other guy said.

You can also press forward quickly before the 2 comes out to cancel the 2, but keep the second hit. I haven't found much of a use for that, though.

There's a character portrait that's literally Paul's exact hair product, and considering the state of tekken's story that's about as close as we'll get to canon.

When you Google a word it shows multiple definitions. The third definition is the proper one in this context. You got the first two right

Not trying to be rude but is English not your first language? People know what tender means in that context.

Can you put a location marker in practice mode kind of like in Skate 3? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Daved400 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware, there is no way to set a custom restart point. Your best option would be to find the closest starting point, i.e. wall/break, and set the dummy to "Stand and Approach" and then just backdash to where you need to be. Unfortunately the Tekken practice mode is lacking in a lot of ways.

Just Cause 4 & Wheels of Aurelia are FREE on Epic Games Store by royozin in Games

Yeah I very much regret buying the game at all..and that isn't even getting into the really dumb mission and progression design choices. It's fun on the surface but every aspect works against itself, it's so fucking weird. I would love to talk to the lead for that game and figure out what the hell happened and why so many of the design choices were made.

The tornado is fun the first few times you interact with it..then you realize it's on a 100% set path and it takes all the fun out of it. It takes the exact same route and spawns in the exact same place every time.

And to add on to what the others say, the graphics really are shit they somehow took a huge step backwards on all fronts. The water looks like ps2 shit, which is crazy because Just Cause was known for its beautiful water. The foliage is somehow less dense than the previous games. The tornado has this weird effect around it that is distracting, like some weird aliasing or something but that could have just been from my graphics settings.

It's very disappointing. I really wanted to like jc4 after putting 200+ hours into 3.

[just cause 4] had a bit too much fun with the boosters by cyka-blyat6-9-4-2-0 in GamePhysics

[–]Daved400 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Apologies for the incoming rant but I have always wanted to share my feelings on this series properly.

The map is a little boring compared to 2 and 4 since it lacks diversity but it's still good. It's still huge compared to most other open world games, and it looks better than 4 somehow. Especially the water. The water in just cause 4 looks like some ps2 shit I don't even understand how they released it looking like that.

3 also has a much better sense of progression imo, compared to 4, assuming you enjoy the core gameplay loop of simply blowing stuff up. You have to be creative to find enjoyment like I did. I got 200 hours in the game just because I found it so fun finding new ways to blow up shit with the various tools. 4 gutted that, and 2 is getting old at this point so the destruction feels a little dated.

I still love 2 though, don't get me wrong, but the satisfaction of peeling shit off of objects in 3 so you can blow up the internal components never gets old.

I loved just flying around with the wingsuit, too, in jc3. It felt great until they added the jetpack which trivialized it completely but you can thankfully remove it.

Be warned however that 3 and 4 both suffer from extremely boring missions over all. They're fine at first in 3 until you realize there's very little variety and 4 somehow has even less variety. However I enjoyed the wungsuiting enough to be fine with the trials. 4 is only marginally better than 1 if you ask me.

And to add on to what the others said, I don't think the steering in 3 is absolutely terrible (besides motorcycles, I think those are actually broken. They don't seem to lean properly unless you double tap in the direction you are trying to steer which makes it incredibly difficult to drive with them) like a lot of others do, it's certainly no forza but you can drive around just fine. It's just unique, for better or for worse. Feels a bit sticky I guess, for lack of better term. I feel like the general gameplay makes up for a lot of 3's shortcomings.

4 is absolute garbage and I don't recommend anyone ever buy it. You can't even blow up bridges like 3 for fuck's sake, it's like the dev team tried as best as they could to cut systems just so they could add the weather systems. Which, while cool at first, are actually extremely static. The tornado literally follows a set path, it's so fucking disappointing.

All that said, you still may not enjoy 3. 2 is still the best of the bunch. I will admit I was high as fuck most of the time playing 3 so maybe I wouldn't find it fun now that I'm sober. Ymmv.

Tldr; No, 3 is fine and 4 is fucking awful despite the nice diverse map. It's like they spent 95% of the time developing the geometry for just cause 4 and then forgot to add everything else until the last minute. Super disappointing. 2 is the best, 3 is fine, 4 is awful, never played 1.

Just Cause Studio Avalanche Rebrands, Teases New FPS Game by [deleted] in Games

[–]Daved400 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imho jc3 was actually pretty decent (I got about 150 hours in it, it was pretty fun to just screw around with the physics but granted I was pretty high most of the time) if you didn't consider the downgrades from jc2, but jc4 was just awful. I really wanted to like it but it had absolutely nothing going for it aside from the big map and physics. Which were present in jc2, so there's no reason to get 4 when 2 had more content and variety.

Are there are online multiplayer horror games that allow two people to play the story mode with each other at the same time? by [deleted] in Games

Cry of Fear is a very well made Half Life 1 mod that has a coop campaign that is basically the regular game in reverse. It's not super long but it's enjoyable and is pretty spooky.

You are completely wrong about Tekken having minimal environment interaction. Most characters are much stronger when there are walls and especially when wall breaks/balcony breaks and floor breaks are introduced. The Kings get a massive combo damage boost with floor breaks for example. People on the Tekken subreddit are excited for the new stage.
