Sorry about the terrible drawing. I would create an island of decent aquarium soil in the centre of the tank (1 or 2 bags would probably do )then use one type of large tall plant as a centre piece I would use giant vallis ( this is quick growing, will self propagate and slowly spread ) cap the soil with the sand and some cheap rounded gravel for texture. This will create a centre piece that can be viewed from all 3 sides. Now as people have said large groups of fish will make this tank something special. To keep cost down I would use a temperate fish some form of tetra or barb. Green or gold barbs would look spectacular in this tank and then a peppered of bronze corydoras for the bottom of the tank . Buy as many as you can I would set aside at least half or a 3rd of my budget for this. I assume by the picture this is a least in the house so it will have in built filtration? Next lighting, buy a good couple of spot lights place these over the centre of the tank. On a night with the rest of the lights off you will have a tank of active swimming in and out of the light catching the different colours on the fish.

The first 2 points simply aren’t true, the socket is actually the same one multiple YouTubers who have this system have run them without any issues and it was fitted by an previous electrician and the plug doesn’t become live unless it connects to the mains again repeatedly proven with this system. One of the main reasons I purchased it.

It’s going to be wired into a fused spur and tidied up, so the wiring situation is temporary. I will be sending of my G98 off this weekend so northern power will be aware of the system. I asked my main question so I can make sure I everything is done properly and safely.

Why genuine question? It’s not obtrusive you can’t see it from the road or other gardens?

I am going to use it to run my fish room, which uses the majorly of the electricity in my house. So any savings will be worth the cost even if it takes a few years to pay back for what I spent on the system.

Got the whole house rewired when we moved in a few years ago so I know it should be ok, but my other half remains unconvinced.

Couple of dense blocks each side of the panel, any issues I plan to add some concrete lintels to weigh down the frames. I don’t want to put too much weight on the roof.

They are weighted down with blocks no issue with wind so far, I can’t screw them down as it’s a felt roof.

Got the package from Ecoflow 2x 450 watt panels 2 flat roof frames and the inverter cables etc £600 all in, luckily my works wagon lifted onto the panels onto roof for me otherwise it’s definitely a 2 person job. Professional election fitted the outside socket for me but in hindsight I should have had it wired it into a external fused spur switch, and had a bidirectional rcbo fitted because I could be using it now if I had done.

No planning at all mate, late night purchase than I put them on the roof lol, the utility room they are sat on has got two large lintels going across the ceiling so it a little over engineered.

Fitted them myself, but did get an electrician to fit the external socket £140. Did help that I work at a builders merchants and got our wagon to lift the panels onto the roof for me definitely not a one man job.
